These zodiac signs are most common among serial killers

For true crime fans, it remains something fascinating: serial killers; although it feels a bit strange to call it a fascination. But well, one of the reasons all the documentaries are so interesting is because we just can't understand how someone could ever do something so horrific. We probably will never fully grasp it, but that doesn't stop us from looking for clues. Is someone's constellation for example a clue? The database Killer.Cloud made a list based on 488 known serial killers. Who knows, it might come in handy someday.

Capricorn

At number one, we have Capricorn. Although that might not be something to be proud of in this list. In total, 55 serial killers have this zodiac sign, with perhaps the most famous being ‘The Freeway Killer’. This William Bonin murdered at least 21 people between May 1979 and June 1980, although he was suspected of 36 murders. These killers usually employed a fixed ritual with their victims, often involving strangulation. A possible explanation for the high number: the need for control and the goal-oriented behavior of a Capricorn. But of course, there is much more at play.

Leo

Just below Capricorns, with a difference of nine, we find Leo; with a total of 46 killers on the list. In terms of numbers, this zodiac sign takes second place, but regarding brutality, they certainly rank at the top. Rapes and sexual torture were often part of their actions. Even now, dominance plays an important role; their charms can be used by Leos to win over victims. With names like The Blood Countess, The Railroad Killer, and Monster Killer, you know you need to be on your guard.

Scorpio and Sagittarius

As a Sagittarius, I had hoped to be lower on the list, but it turned out to be the third place. Shared with Scorpio, but still. Both come in at 43 killers, including Ted Bundy, The Torso Killer, The ABC Killer, and The Vampire of Hannover. For Sagittarians, it holds that they come close to Leos in terms of brutal murders. Rapes and strangulation occurred regularly. Sometimes they even took it a step further, performing sexual acts with their victims or keeping body parts as ‘trophies’ after the murder. Scorpios also go quite far; before they murdered someone, there was often a period of rapes and stalking beforehand. Truly horrific.

Aquarius, Aries, and Libra

The difference is minimal, as Aquarius, Aries, and Libra all come in at 42 killers. Their actions also do not differ much in severity. Torture, rape, and necrophilia are also found among several Aquarius serial killers like the Green River Killer; they often have specific victims: homeless people, prostitutes, or runaways. With Libras, you might not expect it, but these killers are also extremely violent. They too were guilty of torture, strangulation, and taking mementos. They might have worked a bit less messily, but still just as brutally. The most unpredictable in this list is definitely Aries. With these killers, there was actually no fixed pattern in how they attacked their victims. Often, it wasn't necessarily about who was murdered and how, but mainly about the number of people; preferably more than other killers. That fits a bit with the competitive mindset and impulsive behavior of the zodiac sign; although this is of course absolutely no excuse.

Pisces and Gemini

Just a bit lower on the list are Pisces and Gemini. Both come in at 40 known serial killers. What distinguishes serial killers within Gemini is the fact that they often knew their victims or associated them with acquaintances. Whether it was family members or neighbors, there was a link. It has become more of a rule than an exception, but even in these cases, the murders were brutal. Strangulation, binding of bodies, or cannibalism all occurred; as seen with Jeffrey Dahmer, for example. Pisces are also merciless in the case of serial killers. They often present themselves very charmingly, only to strike in the same ways as Gemini. The difference: victims are now determined based on their age, for example, minors or older adults. In the case of John Wayne Gacy, ‘The Killer Clown’, all his victims were between 14 and 21 years old.

Virgo

A Virgo is known for being precise and perfectionistic, and that was also the case with these 39 killers. Many of them first committed a robbery before moving on to murder. It was also common for them to work in the medical field and poison their victims or surgically remove body parts during this work. Acts like those of the ‘Angel of Death’ were meticulously planned, and that is precisely why they were so cruel.

Lobster

Before the 34 serial killers with the zodiac sign Cancer committed murder, most were first involved in gambling, theft, abuse, or rape. Sometimes there was also talk of sex slaves, and victims were murdered by strangulation, shooting, and in some cases drowning. The trigger often lay in a form of blackmail or betrayal, although the exact why remains a mystery.

Taurus

At the very bottom of the list is Taurus, with ‘only’ 22 killers. Still a lot, of course, but compared to the rest, it's the best score. What distinguishes them from other zodiac signs is that Tauruses often first stalked their victims, for example, on walking paths, in parks, or in the mountains. They then proceeded with strangulation, gun violence, or cannibalism. The number may be lower, but that doesn't make these cases any less intense.

Some zodiac signs appear more frequently than others, but that doesn't mean you should immediately sound the alarm if you encounter one. There are of course many other factors at play. In that respect, these kinds of killers remain extremely unpredictable.
