This is how Italy tastes

Italy in a bottle

By

Crodino, the non-alcoholic Italian spritz, has helped me through three pregnancies. I didn't mind not drinking that much, but I really missed the coziness of a nice drink during the gathering. I could easily do without the alcohol, but thanks to Crodino, I still had that festive feeling that belongs to the gathering. A beautiful bottle, the stunning color, and that layered taste where sweet and bitter dance over your tongue. Crodino is celebrating its 60th anniversary, and that calls for a tribute.

In this day and age, there is an increasing demand for a non-alcoholic alternative, and thus Crodino is once again the most sought-after drink of the moment. Because aside from the aforementioned qualities, it is also Italian history in a bottle. Crodino comes from the town of Crodo, which is located near Lake Maggiore. Crodo has about 1400 inhabitants and a spa. And there, in that spa, the drink Crodino was first made in 1964. The base is spring water from the Fonte Lisiel, a spring that was discovered as early as the seventeenth century.

In Crodo, Crodino even has an annual holiday where the drink is celebrated and honored.

The recipe

The makers of Crodino did not take the easy way out. The Crodino Original contains 30 different natural fruits, herbs, and spices such as cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. Everything was mixed together for six months before it could flow into a glass.

The Crodino Rosso is the slightly bolder brother of . The combination of blood orange with the citrus-like bitterness formed this special spritz. .

The bottles alone are a jewel for your fridge and your gathering table. When you see the logo, Paolo Conte already sounds from your audio system, and you dream away to a village square where older men oversee a lively spectacle. And do you know what the fun part is? After an evening full of Crodino, it's wonderful to wake up feeling fresh again. Because it remains, and as they say in Italy, un aperitivo analcolico.

Tip: save the bottles and use them as small flower vases for your Italian dining table.
Tip 2: download those amazing WhatsApp stickers from Crodino.
