Why you should start watching ‘The Residence’ today

While we wait for the new season of ‘Bridgerton’, Shonda Rhimes gives us a little something to keep us happy: the new Netflix series ‘The Residence’ is a huge hit, and I immediately understand why. For fans of ‘Only Murders in the Building’, ‘Knives Out’, and our latest obsession ‘The Perfect Couple’, this series is an absolute must-see. A gigantic murder mystery that is currently ranked number two in the Netflix top ten.

The setting of this series is... special

We are reminded almost daily that all sorts of terrible decisions are being made in the White House, and perhaps that's why it's extra funny that this latest murder mystery takes place right there. When a body is found, the large-scale search for the culprit begins for detective Cordelia Cupp, through the 132 rooms in the president's house. It's not just the large number of rooms that makes her investigation quite difficult: at the time of the murder, there is a party going on with about 157 guests present.

Fortunately, there is also plenty of room for humor

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I found ‘The Perfect Couple’ a much more enjoyable series than the third season of ‘The White Lotus’. A bit of humor amidst the mystery is always something I can appreciate, and that's exactly what you get in ‘The Residence’. There's a good chance you'll see random familiar faces, as there are also small roles for big stars like Kylie Minogue. The best news? The entire season, all eight episodes, is just nicely available online. So tonight, just hit that Netflix button and binge!
