Winter Full of Love – Everything About the Reunion
Judith, Bart, Jan, Mike, Antine and especially....Monique

I had a good laugh when Renze stood up last night on RTL4, my husband was watching that, and I was sitting with my laptop on my lap like a junkie devouring the reunion of Winter Vol Liefde on Videoland. Renze opens his talk show pretty much ritualistically with a Winter Vol Liefde recap and I heard him say that the reunion, according to him, was only available after his talk show on Videoland. From the sparkle in his eyes, I could see that he knew better, but didn’t want a ratings disaster to happen on RTL4 at 10:00 PM.
But the fans knew better. In our editorial app group it was chaos and jealousy everywhere, because oh, we couldn’t get in and shit, I was in, but Daan wasn’t yet. I’m definitely going to watch it linearly again tonight (so just on ‘the television’, as a boomer should), because I’ve been swept away by all the recaps. One thing only interested me: who is still together?
SPOILER ALERT EVERYWHERE
As always, the creators saved the best for last: Bart and Judith. And that was also immediately the only love that has lasted. “There’s even a bit of love involved,” Bart beamed, while Judith managed to inch a millimeter closer to him. But further there was indeed peace and harmony, but where this season seemed to be the most successful ever in terms of couples, it might ultimately be the season with the lowest love quotient.
But that doesn’t mean this season hasn’t done people good. We saw a much softer Jan, a wise Maarten (what a shock to see someone so affected by that terrible cancer in just a few months), and a much more vibrant Adriënne. Keeping the love fire crackling and popping didn’t work, but a warm bond with Frits is definitely there. I’m also so curious what body language experts have to say about all the couch sitters.
But we were especially curious about Mike and Antine. Was Antine strong enough in her hiking boots to face the avalanche Monique? And what we all feared turned out to be true. Antine liked Mike, but the bonus material was a bit less successful.
“It’s not possible to build a relationship only with Mike. You will always get family and a world around it. But I’ve never experienced that you can’t even have a phone conversation alone with him. And I can’t do that.”
Mike had, to quote my daughters, gotten a bit of a glow-up from all the media attention. He looked like a stylish rooster. Now just push that old hen into another coop and start living. Would he succeed? If I were RTL, I would make a series about it.
