Feeling safe during ADE: here you can go if you don't want to go home

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is of course all about nights that feel far too short, famous DJs, and countless parties throughout the city. But after a long evening, there is actually something much more important: how do you get home safely?
And what if you suddenly don't feel comfortable on the way, your phone is almost dead, or you just need a quiet place for a moment? Fortunately, this has been thought of during ADE.
This is how you get home safely during ADE
From October 21 to 25, visitors can go to The Safe Check-In on the NDSM terrain in Amsterdam. A temporary place where you can recharge, catch your breath, and get help if your journey home doesn't go as planned. Because going out safely also means feeling safe when the party is over.
What is The Safe Check-In during ADE?
The Safe Check-In is a temporary safe place at the NDSM terrain in Amsterdam, set up by The Social Hub and Plan International. During ADE, visitors can come here if they need rest, support, or help with their journey home.
And no, you don't necessarily have to be in an unpleasant situation to be admitted here. Sometimes just stopping by to chill is nice too. This place is meant for that as well.
When can you go to The Safe Check-In?
There are various reasons to pop in. It really doesn't matter what your reason is as long as you have good intentions. Maybe your phone is almost dead and you still need it to plan your journey. Maybe you don't feel completely at ease or don't know how to get home safely. Or maybe you just need a moment of peace after a long night.
At The Safe Check-In, you can catch your breath, charge your phone, and get support for your journey home. You can also discuss with a host how to get home safely.
And that last part can be nice. We women know what it's like to have to go home alone in the middle of the night, which can be no fun. Because no matter how great the evening was, you don't want the last part of your night to be the part you worry about.
No matter how fun the festival is...
During ADE, Amsterdam transforms into one big dance floor for days. Visitors hop from party to party and often have long nights. But if you're tired, your phone is dead, or you don't feel safe on the way, the journey home can suddenly be a lot less straightforward.
With The Safe Check-In, The Social Hub and Plan International want to provide visitors with a place where they can go during such moments. An initiative that reminds us that a good festival experience is not just about the music, but also about how you get home again. So are you going to dance the night away during ADE? Enjoy it, look out for each other a bit, and remember that you don't have to solve everything alone if something goes differently than planned.
