I am so incredibly curious about this documentary about Elizabeth Holmes : the infamous founder of Theranos. She gave Nathan Fielder access to her private life thirty days before she went to prison. And that remained a secret for years.

The making of this documentary film was kept secret for three years (!).

In America, the documentary was launched on October 16. And the first reviews are very promising. On Rotten Tomatoes You Can See Everything scores no less than 98 percent with film critics and 98 percent with the public. And that's not just because of this rather unusual subject. But especially because everyone is so impressed by the way Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim tell the story.

Awards Radar calls the documentary one of the most stunning documentaries ever made, Variety describes the film as a unique mix of reality TV, awkward humor, and psychological drama. Also, the runtime of 174 minutes seems to not scare off most reviewers at all. On the contrary: according to IndieWire, you remain curious for more even after almost three hours..... Oh, can't wait!

The documentary turns out to be much more than a look back at the massive fraud case surrounding Theranos. The creators also raise questions about truth, guilt, and the way we view someone like Elizabeth Holmes.

A woman with long blonde hair smiles cheerfully as she looks down at a child who is blurred in the foreground. She is holding something white in her hands, while a man watches in the background in a warmly lit room.

What is You Can See Everything about?

Just for those who don't remember: Elizabeth Holmes promised to detect hundreds of diseases with just a few drops of blood. A revolutionary invention, although the technology absolutely did not work as promised. The founder of Theranos was rightly convicted of fraud with investors and received a prison sentence of over eleven years.

34 days before she had to go to prison, Holmes invited Nathan Fielder to document her life. And why did Elizabeth Holmes choose Nathan Fielder? Because this remains the strangest part of the whole story. Fielder is not a documentary maker at all. He is a comedian known from Nathan for You and the series The Rehearsal (HBO Max), series that often have a script or at least a heavily outlined structure. Moreover, this is his feature film debut as a director.

Quite unusual. But apparently also mega interesting. Together with director Lance Oppenheim, he then worked for three years on the editing of the documentary.

What I read is that the film does not simply re-establish whether Holmes is guilty, but primarily raises questions about her motives and the way she presents herself. Does she still believe in her own story, or is she trying to restore her image? I am very curious about that.

When can you see You Can See Everything in the Netherlands?

The first chance is during IDFA. On Friday, November 13, the film will be screened at 8:30 PM in Carré, but that screening is already sold out. That says something.

Also impatient? KINO Rotterdam starts on November 26 with previews. Note: these screenings are still without Dutch subtitles.

The official Dutch cinema release is on Thursday, January 7, 2027.

Where can you watch You Can See Everything?

In the cinema, of course. From January 7, the documentary will be screened with Dutch subtitles, among others at Filmhuis Lumen, Filmhallen and KINO Rotterdam.

A delightful long sit, of 174 minutes. Three hours of Elizabeth Holmes, indeed. I'm already looking forward to it!

If you want to get into the story: on Disney+ you can see the amazing series The Dropout in which Amanda Seyfried plays Holmes.
