Drama with Harry Styles: the reason why his concert is flopping

One of my favorite pastimes in life is attending a concert. The anticipation, the afterglow, and of course the concert itself. Attending a concert by Harry Styles was on my bucket list, just below Bruno Mars. So when Harry Styles put his tickets on sale for his Together, Together 2026 Tour, I was on high alert. I had coincidentally done the same a few weeks earlier for Bruno Mars (the stress, people, the stress) and I had also managed to snag four tickets there. I had to find tickets for Harry Styles as well.

And many others with me, because Harry Styles was trending. He chose Amsterdam as his residency for Europe and immediately added some more concerts. Too many, as it turns out, because his concerts are not sold out at all. And all the people who had bought tickets are now massively offering them for resale. Just look at Ticketmaster and you'll see a sea of red dots; meaning; people who want to get rid of their tickets. The tour seems to be turning into a big flop. Because how do you perform in a not sold-out stadium? For a superstar, that is a huge failure that no marketing strategist knows how to handle.

Why fans are reselling their Harry Styles tickets

Not long after the ticket sale, Harry Styles' new album was released. I was going to listen to it, because I had all the time in the world. When it turned out that my fragile brain shake (I had fallen off my bike and was lying in bed recovering) and the new album were not a perfect match, I parked Harry for a while. A bit too much bass, drums, and beat for me. But now that the concert is getting closer and I see on the setlist that a lot of his new album is being played, I'm giving it another try. And another. And yet another.

Despite my now dented and rebounded little brain, this album and I still don't make a good duo. And apparently, I'm not the only one.

Just take a look at the days when Harry Styles is performing in the Arena with his Together, Together 2026 Tour and you'll see hundreds of red dots, or in other words: hundreds of available tickets. Apparently, there are more people like us who are not really looking forward to the concert and would rather use that money for something else. Because the tickets were certainly not cheap.

Is the new Harry Styles album the reason?

I immediately make the connection with the album, which for me hangs somewhere between medium and meh, but that might be a bit of a bold conclusion. Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally has been streamed 800 million times on Spotify and is thus one of the biggest debuts of 2026. With Harry’s House this is still far away, as that album has more than 10 billion streams, but it's a strong start, that must be said.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles in the Johan Cruijff Arena: why are there still so many tickets?

But whether people like the album and don't really see it as concert material, or whether everyone suddenly has something else to do in the period from mid-May to June 5, or whether we've spent our money on Bruno Mars, there can't be a mouse left in “his” Arena, or whether we just don't feel like it... the number of tickets in resale is immense. And for a few concerts, on May 16, 17, 20, and 23, there are still a lot of seats available.

Flop or not?

So you can't call this album a flop with almost a billion streams, but you can't really call his concerts in the Netherlands successful yet.
