The latest H&M fall drop features Yves Saint Laurent

I opened the H&M app this week and my jaw literally dropped at the amazing pieces they have in their new collection. Think dramatic shoulders, dark floral prints, lace, rich fabrics, and sleek silhouettes. It’s giving Yves Saint Laurent.
The nice thing is that you don't immediately need a completely new wardrobe to achieve that look. A standout jacket, a good pair of trousers, and a few accessories can work wonders. That's why I've put together the very best pieces from the collection for you, just like that. So you can add them to your ever-growing autumn wardrobe.
These are the H&M items that I will definitely add to my autumn wishlist.
1. Shoulder-pad brocade jacket – €89,99
And we start with a bang. If there’s a jacket that is easy to combine, it’s this one. A statement piece but already great on its own with light jeans and a white T-shirt, super easy. The brocade jacket with shoulder pads has exactly that rich, almost vintage look that I’m completely crazy about. And the dark floral print with the strong shoulders gives the jacket a couture-like feel.
2. Sequin-fringed mini dress – €34,99
There are dresses that you wear once and then they disappear to the back of the closet. And there are dresses for which you spontaneously try to squeeze a dinner, birthday, or cocktail night into your schedule. This black mini dress with sequins and fringes definitely falls into that second category.
The combination of shine and moving fringes makes the dress wonderfully dramatic. It has a vintage feel, something festive, and above all, something where you don’t need much more to be ready. A black tights, simple kitten heels, and a big coat over it, and you’re good to go. During the day, I might not pull it out of the closet that quickly, but for an evening when you want just a bit more than a standard little black dress? Yes, please.
3. Crinkled wrap blouse – €59,99
Not every outfit needs to be black to fit within this vibe. This crinkled wrap blouse comes in a warm brown shade and is a nice change from all that dark intensity. The crinkled effect gives the blouse some texture and the wrap shape creates a feminine silhouette. Wear it with dark trousers or combine it with denim if you want to keep it a bit looser. A few gold accessories, and you have an outfit that works for both the office and a casual get-together.
4. Coated barrel trousers – €59,99
Who says pants have to be simple hasn’t seen these coated barrel-leg trousers in burgundy yet. The color is rich and dark, while the coated finish gives the pants a bit more character. The barrel-leg shape also makes them more interesting than yet another straight black trouser.
I would combine them with a black top or a nice knitted sweater, so the pants can do the talking. A black belt completes the look. And if you’re still unsure about burgundy: think of it as the slightly more exciting sister of black.
5. Frill-trimmed lace top – €29,99
That this autumn isn’t just about sleek silhouettes is proven by this black lace top with ruffles. Lace can quickly become very romantic, but in black, it gives a more classic vibe. Wear it with trousers for an evening look, or combine it with denim and boots if you want to make your outfit a bit less formal. I actually like that contrast: a refined top with something edgy underneath.
6. Midi lace skirt – €49,99
This black skirt with lace details also fits perfectly into the picture. Lace gives an outfit something soft and festive, but you absolutely don’t have to wear a boring blouse with it. On the contrary: I would actually combine it with a chunky sweater, a simple T-shirt, or a jacket with strong shoulders. This way, the skirt gets a bit of an edgier look and you prevent your outfit from becoming too frumpy. With high boots underneath, you’re ready for autumn.
7. Mohair-blend shoulder-pad cardigan – €79,99
And then my favorite for those who love the Napoleon style: this mohair blend cardigan with shoulder pads. The dark green color is perfect for autumn and gives something edgy and chic at the same time. With the special buttons and loop details, it’s fun to wear both open and closed. Combine it with a good pair of wide jeans, heeled boots, a large black sunglasses, and you’re ready to go.
This is how you complete your H&M look
If you ask me what makes this new fall drop so great, it’s not just that there are beautiful loose items among them. It’s mainly the combination of textures and shapes. Brocade next to denim, lace opposite a good sweater, a bit of burgundy, and shoulders that can stand out a bit more. Keep the base calm and play with one or two standout elements. Think of a sturdy belt, large sunglasses, pointed boots, or a big plush bag.
And especially try not to try too hard: the charm lies in that mix of polished and a bit casual. Your autumn wardrobe can also be a bit more dramatic this year.
