These are the nail trends for autumn 2026

The weather is still quite confusing, because last week I went to office the office with 25 degrees and the rest of the week I had to run inside due to downpours. A small consolation is really the autumn fashion, makeup and nails. You will wear darker colors on your nails less quickly in the summer. If you still don't have an idea of what I mean, think of brown tones, prints that mainly occur in autumn, and warmer colors. To give you some inspiration, I will show the cutest nail trends for autumn.

Chocolate Brown

We saw the color a lot last year, from clothing and bags to workout sets. Now it is also a nail trend, and you can go in many directions with it. There are different shades of chocolate brown, so there is a color that best matches everyone's skin tone.

Tortoiseshell

The tortoiseshell headband is everywhere again, now that a lot of style inspiration from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy is being adopted. I am also a fan, I even have glasses with the pattern. But this is a trend they didn't have in the 90s: tortoiseshell nails.

Mulberry

It's not too red, and not too brown. Mulberry is the perfect autumn color. Dark berry and wine colors are certainly not new, and often come back because they match almost every outfit: white, brown, black, gray, green, and all the other colors you wear in autumn.

Gem Edges

If you don't like very bold designs but still want a bit of nail art, gem edges are really perfect. Lately, everything is being bedazzled again, but gem edges can also be more subtle. You can also place dots around the edge instead of small stones.

Plaid nails

Plaid patterns are of course inextricably linked to autumn. You can do the pattern on all nails, but I actually like it as a subtle accent on the ring finger. You can also play with this and there are really many combinations and colors possible.

Jewel tones

Sapphire blue, emerald green, ruby red, aquamarine, and other gemstone colors. You don't necessarily have to choose a striking design to do something different with your nails. Just these deep colors look beautiful with a minimalist styling.

Of all these trends, I at least know which nails I want to try first: the gem edges. It's a little extra but you can keep it quite subtle, since I don't like bold nail art or bright colors. I am definitely inspired enough for my next appointment at the nail salon.
