These are the 7 best coffee and matcha spots in Paris

Living in the oh-so-romantic Paris is not just enjoying a crispy baguette with salted butter by the Seine, but also enjoying the best coffees that the city has to offer.

I have to be honest, there are a lot of overrated places with mediocre coffees and matcha in the city (Doppio for example, sorry not sorry). Fortunately, I'm here to help you out with my all-time favorite spots for coffee and matcha, so you don't have to think twice about which spots to visit where.

These are my 7 favorites

Daark – 3rd arrondissement

At number 1 for me is Daark in the 4th. In my last months of my adventure in Paris, I discovered this place through one of my best friends. It hasn't been around for long, they just opened their little spot in Le Marais last February.

The absolute best coffee and matcha is made here. That's really impressive, everything in one place, because often they are not found in the same spot. I'm not a matcha (but a coffee) fan myself. But if I have to believe my friends, you really have to go to Daark for the best matcha and coffee.

Fun fact: one of the two French owners did his exchange (if I'm saying it right) in Maastricht, so he knows a few Dutch words. If you plan to get your coffee or matcha there, say ‘thank you’ to him when you leave and you're guaranteed to see a smile on his face.

Seamer – 9th arrondissement

Seamer was a very dangerous place for me, because it was quite close to my studies and where a friend of mine lived during my exchange. I can (unfortunately) say that I possibly spent 1/4 of my entire Paris budget here.

But that shouldn't spoil the fun, because then you have something to show for it. Seamer really has such delicious coffee and (if I can believe my friends) you definitely shouldn't skip the matcha mango there.

Kura-ge – 4th arrondissement

Yes, if you are a matcha fan, you can't help but have heard of this place. The well-known Kura-ge is really a concept in Paris. Here, the quality of the matcha is apparently so good that everyone keeps coming back.

You can really find all kinds of matcha here. Hojicha (a kind of burnt matcha, I've been told) is also available here. Matcha girls, during your trip to Paris, this place is not to be missed.

Latte Club – 12th arrondissement

Latte Club is one of those places that makes me very happy. Not too complicated, just good coffee and a super fun place to plop down. The retro vibes of this place make it just a bit more enjoyable to sit here (and at the same time take nice photos for Insta).

And the name says it all: if you love a good latte, you're in the right place. I'm quite easily satisfied when it comes to coffee, but I can really appreciate a good latte.

The 12th arrondissement may not be the first place you think of when looking for a coffee shop in Paris, but that's exactly why I find this spot so nice. So if you're nearby? Make sure to stop by Latte Club.

Buddy Buddy – 10th arrondissement

Buddy Buddy is still a bit of a secret among coffee lovers, I think. I only discovered how amazing this place is in my last month. This is one of those places where you walk in and immediately think: yes, they understand coffee here.

I would especially go here if you're in the mood for a good coffee without needing to be a complete coffee connoisseur. Because let's be honest: I can pretend to recognize all the flavor tones, but in the end, I just want my cappuccino to be good. And it is here.

Cortado – 3rd arrondissement

Cortado in the 3rd is one that you should definitely add to your list when wandering through Le Marais. Every Parisian actually knows this spot, but the coffee is really good. Especially if you like stronger coffee, this is your place.

Perfect for a typical Parisian morning when you actually have no rush. First get coffee, then stroll leisurely through the streets of Le Marais and convince yourself that you really don't need another vintage designer bag. Sounds very familiar to me.

Dialogues – 7th arrondissement

Honestly: if you really want to experience Paris, you shouldn't just hop around Le Marais. The 7th is also full of places you can visit as a tourist, but in between all that walking, at some point, you just need coffee. And then Dialogues is in the perfect spot.

The coffee is good, the place is quite cozy, and it's especially a nice stop to catch your breath before heading towards the Eiffel Tower. So I would mainly go here if you're in the area.
