The best setting sprays with SPF for summer
Yes yes, the sun has been showing itself a lot in recent weeks. And I dare bet that you only started thinking about SPF at that moment. Or maybe still not, and you are patiently waiting for your summer vacation when you can finally lie on the beach? But really, I'm not saying this to annoy you: apply SPF every day. I recently attended a webinar about sun damage, and it was mentioned that in the Netherlands, someone is diagnosed with skin cancer on average every 8 minutes. Holy. I repeat: every 8(!) minutes. And that is largely due to one fairly ‘simple’ thing: UV radiation. And that is always there. Even when you are sitting dutifully behind your laptop by a window. So protect yourself.
Wear your makeup, then protecting and reapplying (about every three hours) suddenly becomes a lot more complicated. Because how do you keep that protective layer in place without ruining your entire face? That's where it often goes wrong. There are plenty of sticks you can use over your makeup, they work fine, but often leave a slightly greasy layer behind. That's why a setting spray with SPF is really the winner for me.
Okay, little reality check: such a spray evaporates quickly. One gust of wind and your mist is gone. If you really want to be well protected, you need quite a bit of product, even more than you probably think. So don't see it as a replacement for your SPF in the morning, but as a handy touch-up for during the day. Also nice: you can just use it over your makeup (and yes, also on your parting, mine always burns first). And honestly: such a cooling spray in the summer is just very nice. Even nicer when it comes out of the fridge. Setting sprays with SPF then. For days when you want to protect your skin a little extra without hassle, and your makeup also gets a fresh boost. At the beach, on the terrace, or during a boat trip through the canals.
