My daughter is going to study in Rome for five months and you understand that I had to take her there. The farewell had to be postponed as much as possible. Furthermore, I could help her find her way, because once, long ago, the man who would eventually become her father took me to this city and we lived in the Monti district for about five months. I sent my daughter on a quest and she quickly came up with a remarkably nice location. It seemed almost too good to be true, because everything was perfect. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a very cozy living room with a small nook (where do I start explaining how much I love nooks), a kitchen with Nespresso, dishwasher, refrigerator, a dining area, and a cupboard full of beautiful glasses and nice dishes. Not a throw-in-Ikea-and-it-will-be-fine apartment, but actually a boutique hotel on Airbnb. The apartment has the charm of a Roman palazzo, with secret views and small nooks, and is decorated by someone with Scandinavian style and taste.
What can you expect from the service?
The owner, a Swede who has lived in Rome for 23 years, was fine with us dropping off our luggage earlier and immediately showed us around the house. For hygiene, this stay received a 5 out of 5, and that was evident. Also nice: we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, water (extra sweet, because in principle you can also drink the Roman tap water), and there were olive oil, salt, Nespresso pods, and tea bags ready. So we were well provided for in terms of basic necessities. What is also worth money: the map with tips for bars, restaurants, and gelaterias in the area that owner Margareta has collected over those 23 years.
What is the best location for an Airbnb in Rome?
The best part of the apartment was definitely the location: a hop away from Campo de’ Fiori, close to Trastevere (think of it as the Jordaan of Rome) and the centro storico of Rome. The little street, Via del Pellegrino, you could almost not leave.

There are two great breakfast and lunch spots, a pasta restaurant that is rarely Instagrammable, a cool hairdresser, and at the square at the end of our street is restaurant Pierluigi, which turned out to be my taste compass Leco's favorite.
