This is the woman behind the nails of Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner

There is one thing that Adele, Sabrina Carpenter, Lily-Rose Depp, Hailey Bieber, and the Jenner sisters all have in common: perfectly polished nails. And that's no coincidence, as they all go to the same nail stylist. Zola Ganzorigt only started doing nails full-time a few years ago, but she is already one of the biggest in the business. She is represented by The Wall Group, the leading management agency in Hollywood for top stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, and nail stylists. You may not have heard her name before, but you have probably seen her nail designs. Fortunately, she often shares tips & tricks so that you know what to ask for at the salon next time.

Zola moved to the United States in 2016 from her home country of Mongolia, where she worked at a bank, to earn her Masters in Business. A family member then offered her a job at a nail salon, and she started doing that part-time. In 2020, she decided to focus on this completely, and in 2022 she went completely viral with the ‘glazed donut nails’ she created for Hailey Bieber's Met Gala look. The shiny pearlescent nails are still popular, and the secret behind them is chrome powder. I also recently asked my nail stylist to use it on my nails, and I can safely say: I am obsessed.

The secret is a thin layer of a natural milky white-pink color (she uses Funny Bunny from OPI) and on top of that the OPI Chrome Effects powder in the color Tin Can Man. This was initially only available for salons, and due to this trend, it is now completely sold out. Recently, OPI released an OPI X NailsbyZola Chrome Powders collection, which is now called ‘Tin Man Can Glaze’. Unfortunately, this is also sold out in the Netherlands at the moment. But don't worry: there are alternatives available in the Netherlands. At Zalando, you can shop the Le Mini Macaron Chrome Powder, and at Douglas, they sell the Neonail Pearl Effect.

Zola also has tips for the perfect nude manicure. “I mix nude nail polish for my clients in a way that matches their skin tone, but usually, it's a combination of OPI's Put It In Neutral, Bare My Soul, and Bubble Bath,” she told Nylon Magazine.

One of her other signatures is the Vanilla French Manicure. Instead of the classic bright white version, Zola opts for a milky base with cream-colored tips.

With Kylie Jenner, she experiments with rhinestones and glitter French manicures. For Vanessa Hudgens, she often does dark chromes, also known as ‘cat eye chrome’. Sabrina Carpenter mainly opts for pastel shades and small designs like kisses and hearts.

In a time when quiet luxury and clean girl beauty dominate the beauty world, it's no surprise that Zola Ganzorigt has become so successful. She distinguishes herself not through very complicated designs, but rather in her simplicity. There's a good chance you've already unconsciously saved her work on Pinterest. I am also curious about which trend Zola will launch next.
