Genius: an Uber Rally gift for Mother's Day

I don't know how it is at your home, but here at home (daughter Moya, 18, and son Dean, 15) life sometimes feels a bit like a taxi service. Only without an app, no tips, and sometimes with just a bit too many destinations at once. I do it all with love, but sometimes it's quite a lot.

School, hockey, boxing, friends, going out, orthodontics, station Zuid, and somewhere in between, there has to be time to eat as well. And who organizes all that? Exactly.

Moms. Time to switch roles, and that's exactly what Uber is now organizing.

Because new research commissioned by Uber shows that three-quarters of mothers are responsible for dropping off and picking up their children. And even if they are not driving themselves, the management often remains with them: 72% is constantly busy with planning. In other words: you may not always be behind the wheel, but in your head, you're constantly occupied with it.

The mental load is real

What this research shows is something many mothers will recognize: that logistics is not only in your calendar but also in your head.

Who picks up whom? At what time? Does he have his bag? Is it raining? Are they going to drink? Are they being careful? And how do you make sure all those puzzle pieces fit together every day?

For 70% of mothers, that constant management often leads to challenges. Read: slight chaos, full heads, and the feeling that your mind never really switches off.

And then it's Mother's Day again. That one official day of the year. What are we going to give? Because experiences are much higher on the list for many people these days.

In fact, almost 70% indicate they would prefer to receive an experience as a gift. And two-thirds actually dream of one thing: a day when they can truly be completely relieved of their responsibilities.

So no planning. No schedules.

The ultimate dream (which now actually exists)

But this year, Uber is coming up with something that fits perfectly: the Uber Rally.

On May 8, mothers will be driven around in an iconic car with a chauffeur. Along the way, they will participate in tasks and challenges, interspersed with culinary stops along the route. The day will conclude with a joint dinner, where they can sit down with their son or daughter.

The rally is organized in collaboration with uber cool and exclusive Pearlcard and Louwman Exclusive Cars. You will immediately see that reflected in the experience: special cars and a day that is taken care of down to the last detail.

A super fun day for mothers: not having to drive themselves, but just sitting and enjoying. Wonderful.

There should be a bit more appreciation

The same research shows that mothers do not always feel seen. Just over half do, but 43% experience that less. Quite a high percentage.

So maybe this is the moment to be a bit more conscious about it and surprise her with something that really suits her.

Via this link you can sign your mother up for the Uber Rally. The number of spots is limited, so a bit of luck is needed; selected participants will be notified.
