When a celeb sells her house, I'm quicker to check it out than at an 80% sale at the Bijenkorf. I want to see everything. From the couch in the living room to the marble details in the bathroom. And that swimming pool? Of course, I want to know if it's just as ridiculously big as we all thought. As if I could ever afford that... But it's nice to dream, right? So that's what we're going to do today, because there's a star saying goodbye to her villa. Sterile? No way. This is cozy classiness.
If you thought that the former retreat of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck looks just like Kim Kardashian's sterile, white house, then you're very mistaken. Okay, okay, there is a lot of white – you're right about that – but by combining it with various other natural shades, it's not boring, but luxurious. Just that driveway, with that hedge and gate, says enough: this is a timeless house that could easily be featured in Architectural Digest. The exterior of the villa is not a modern, square block, but really a beautiful building that you would expect at an estate. You know: a big house with elegant windows, a dark roof, and columns that you also see at hotels.
Speaking of hotels: the inside of the house could easily be an old resort. The entrance is grand, with a long carpet, a large white staircase, and paintings. The white walls, adorned with elegant details, look great with all the dark brown tones. You see those reflected in the high ceiling, the furniture, and the stair steps. Brown seems to be Jennifer's favorite color, as it also appears in the living room. This is not furnished for someone who is always away, but rather for family evenings. Two large white sofas face each other, which is ideal for game nights. There's a fireplace for ambiance, and with those big chairs, this is the perfect place for a party. This is one of those rooms that is filled with stuff yet still feels calm. That's due to the perfect styling: every painting, cabinet, flower vase, and book is in the right place.

How big is Jennifer's house?
There's plenty of space here. With no less than 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, you can really enjoy yourself here. I did say it looks like a hotel, right? The dark green dining room can seat at least 15 people, so that should make for some good Thanksgiving dinners. Don't feel like sitting in the first living room? Then you can go to another living room. Here, there are super large dark blue sofas where you can doze off. A movie night has never been so relaxing as here. Are you more of a cinema person? Then this mansion obviously also has a cinema. How could it be otherwise, with actors as owners? Oh yes, and working out? You can just do that at home, in the home gym. This is not a small room with a treadmill; it's equipped with a rowing machine, cross trainer, stairmaster, and various weight machines. And if you're not into fitness, you can play a game of tennis indoors. Because why wouldn't J.Lo have a tennis court?
Does all that fit? Certainly. Of course, it fits in a house of 3,500 square meters. That's not a house, but just a five-star hotel with its own postcode. And I haven't even mentioned the land around it. The property covers over five acres, which is about the size of three football fields. That's insanely big. You don't even have to leave to go for a run; you just do that in your own backyard. I know where I want to live.
As I said: dreaming is always allowed, so who knows, you might get some inspiration here. Not to move directly into her villa, but you can definitely learn some interior lessons from this girl on the block.
