Steamy and sexy: this series is so crazy that you'll binge it in one day

A dark erotic thriller – and Leo Woodall (yes, the one from Bridget Jones Mad about that Boy) who is once again playing the lover of an ‘older’ woman? Sign me up. That's what I thought when I saw Vladimir scrolling by on Instagram. I was scrolling, as one does, when the trailer found its way through the algorithm to my phone. Soon I dove into the world of M, the narrator of the story. What's it about? Oh, easy: the obsession with her younger colleague Vladimir. And no: this is not a sweet story. This psychological game between the two ends quite… insane. Are you in for some sexy scenes, intrigue, and Rachel Weisz in the lead role? Then read on quickly.

It's okay to fantasize, right? This is about saw Vladimir .
Have you ever had crazy fantasies? Those dreams that stimulate all your senses, but you’d rather not talk about? You know. About that one colleague you secretly find more attractive than your partner at home, for example. Or a friend of a friend who gets really close after a few glasses of wine when you catch up at every party. Fantasizing about people is completely normal, but it can also go a step too far. It's a fantasy. Not reality. In saw Vladimir M seems to completely lose her grip on what is real and what is fake.
When we meet M, she is in a deep pit. She feels completely unseen. She is getting older and her husband? He’s off every night with others. Not that this is a shock, as they have an open marriage, but still. She doesn’t find it good for her ego. Her daughter no longer needs her, she hasn’t been able to find the passion for writing for years, and oh yes: her husband is being accused of assault by a number of younger students. You can understand that M longs for something new. That is Vladimir, a new colleague she spotted earlier that day in the supermarket. The two connect with each other and for the first time in years it finally feels like someone is paying attention to her again. This innocent interest develops into an extreme obsession. And Vladimir certainly doesn’t help with that. With his mysterious looks, charming chatter, and that nonchalant self-confidence, he knows exactly how to walk into a room. A man you immediately think: this is going to cause problems. And that’s exactly why you can’t take your eyes off him. If you thought you were watching an affair à la Babygirl you’re mistaken. Think YOU x Fifty Shades, then you’re on the right track.
Do you get the chills from fourth-wall breaking? Then this is not for you
There is something you need to know before you watch this miniseries. Rachel's character continuously breaks the fourth wall. For those who don’t live online like I do, let me explain. Fourth-wall breaking means that a character in a movie, series, or book pauses the story and speaks directly to the reader or viewer. The character knows that they are a character and that you are currently experiencing the story. By doing this a lot, you as a viewer get direct access to everything that’s going on in M’s head. What fantasies she has, what she thinks of people, or how she sees a problem. This allows you to connect emotionally with her, but it also gives you a framed view of how she sees the situation. She tells you the story.
And you know what they say: heroes write history, so you never know for sure that what you see is the real truth. M first needs to take off her rose-colored glasses. If you love these kinds of pieces, like in Fleabag, then you will enjoy this. Do you get startled when a character suddenly looks you in the eye? Then you might want to skip this series. Or fast forward those parts a few seconds. Because the drama remains good anyway. In fact: the further you watch, the more you wonder if M is still trustworthy. And that only makes it more addictive.
This series is insanely hot
It can’t be an erotic, psychological thriller without sexy scenes. saw Vladimir has one principle: the further you get into the series, the more exciting it becomes. M’s fantasies become more intense and realistic. The same goes for her behavior. And let’s be honest: who doesn’t enjoy that handsome Leo?
@netflixuk delulu is the solulu at every age #Vladimir
@netflixuk pov: anyone who’s ever seen Leo Woodall #Vladimir
So you know: do you feel like plopping down on the couch to dive deep into M's mind? I think it’s cool to see a woman completely unraveling in the midst of her midlife crisis after meeting a handsome, young man. And believe me: after one episode you’ll probably think you’ll watch just “one more.” Three hours later you’re still on the couch and mainly wondering how this story can possibly unravel even further.
