You can sleep in this Wuthering Heights airbnb and this is how you win the trip

By

Have you always wanted to sleep in a bright pink room like Marie Antoinette or Cathy from Wuthering Heights, while the wind dramatically slams against the windows and your love letters from your lover burn? Then this is your moment. In honor of Valentine's Day and the release of the Wuthering Heights-film, Airbnb opens the doors to Cathy's bedroom where you can sleep. You won't get the drama of a wealthy lady-in-waiting, but you will experience the luxurious lifestyle for a fantastic getaway. Say hello to a candlelit dinner, a night in the softest bed, and a royal breakfast. What’s the best part? This is completely free – and you can win it.

You can win this experience

Okay, so you can sleep in a Cathy-inspired bedroom, but what do you get if you win this trip? A whole experience. In the morning, you will be picked up by horse and carriage (yes, seriously) and ride through the beautiful landscape of Brontë Country. Through the green hills and vast nature reserves, you will head straight to afternoon tea. Here you will get what you think: a classy high tea, where you can enjoy English tea, scones, and other treats that you want to take home in your suitcase while wearing your finest dress. Once you arrive at Thrushcross Grange – as Cathy's house is also called in the book – you and your lover will have an intimate candlelit dinner. After a few glasses of red wine, your evening ends in the bedroom that feels like you’ve stepped into history. With those classic wall lamps, antique furniture, and elegant details in every corner of the room. I can totally see myself brushing my hair at that vanity.

After a night in that grand four-poster bed, you will wake up to the smell of an extensive breakfast. And the fun doesn’t stop there: this day you will also visit the house where the Brontë sisters lived, go horseback riding, and attend a special listening session of the book. In short: the ultimate Wuthering Heights-experience. Without a romance with Heathcliff, though, but hey: your partner is good enough too. Right?

Where that Airbnb is? All the way across the pond

This Victorian overnight stay is really not in a small room in Groningen, no way. Not today. You do this in style in England. And not just anywhere in England, but in Brontë Country. What is that? Oh, nothing special. Just the area in the hills of South Pennine in West Yorkshire, where the Brontë sisters grew up. A.k.a. the writers of literary classics like Jane Eyre, The Tenant of Wildfell and of course Wuthering Heights. It’s already a gift to walk through this area. With those dark buildings, winding streets with old bricks, and nature reserves that make you feel like Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice is walking towards you across a large field. This Airbnb is specifically located in Calderdale, the place where they actually lived and scenes from the film were shot. Really: the English countryside has never had the same atmosphere as on this trip.

How you can win a night in Cathy's bedroom

Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just booking. It’s a bit more complicated than that. This outing is only available for three separate stays. Just the two of you can have a chance to stay between February 27 and March 4. Oh, and before I forget: you will have to pay for those plane tickets yourself. Heathcliff won’t pick you up at Heathrow Airport.

Now comes the most important information: when you need to be ready to reserve this trip. It’s first come, first served, so you better be prepared. You know those Ticketmaster wars where you have to fight for a concert ticket? You can expect that here. Starting February 20 at 1:00 PM, you can submit a booking request via this link.

So you know: do you want to experience your costume drama moment in a ball gown? Seize your chance. Good luck ladies.
