4 super-foods for a good mood

So. Shall we all just try to be normal again? Well, I’m going to in any case. I had such a mega party week last week, and I almost couldn’t get off the couch at all yesterday. I ordered a huge plate of sushi for myself in the evening. I got up early this morning and was the first person outside the ‘Vitamine Store’, ready to start my day green and healthy. I went for a green monster with spinach, lemon, pineapple, ginger and a shot of wheatgrass. That’s in at least.

Monday is a real start up day for most. Sometimes you have a bit of Sunday’s hangover still hanging around, or you’re still in a totally relaxed “I-don’t-want-to-do-anything” state. Recognise this? Here are a few foods that will give you energy and a boost of happiness. Something I’m sure we can all use on this Monday.

Banana

Full of potassium, straight into your bloodstream to give you an energy kick. Also handy to know; it has less than 100 calories in it. Good right?

Honey

Put a teaspoon in your tea or smear some on toast. It contains kaempferol and quercetine to keep your brain healthy and fend off depression. The perfect pick me up.

GRapes

Grapes contain a lot of sugar. Natural sugar thank goodness, but take care not to eat the whole bunch. They are the perfect acute energy kick for a little dip.

 Chocolate

Yes, yes I understand that you prefer KinderBueno or Milka, and you can eat it, but personally I’d go for the dark chocolate. One with at least 60% cacao. Far more phenylethylamine and endorphin in it. It’ll give you that in-love and euphoric feeling. Said enough?
