7 ways to fake a good night’s sleep

If you have some good parties planned, there’s no need to be worrying about the day after. These tips will ensure that no-one knows that you’ve had no sleep. Hangover tips aside, this advice is for any day of the week.

1. Roll-on. Caffeine is the key ingredient in most roll-ons, and that revives just like a cup of coffee. Puffy eyes are diminished and the skin under the eyes will look brighter.

2. Eye-primer. You can use the roll-on to revive, but it won’t get rid of dark patches immediately. A primer makes sure the skin feels soft and balances out the colour with the rest of your skin.

3. Concealer. Unmissable. It should be in your bag always, because you can use it throughout the day, to touch up those rings under the eyes. You hide patches, and it provides a glow, so you look fresher. It will stay better if you use a primer (see point 2) first. So work through each step for the best result.

4. Blue or pink eyeshadow. Hmm, blue sounds a little crazy but it works. It makes your eyes look bright. If you’re not a big fan of blue, you could try soft pink. But let me repeat this one last time, blue really is hot this winter.

5. Curl your lashes, because mascara on uncurled lashes does not give the effect you need: big open eyes. So curl.

6. Black is so normal. Choose a colour for your lashes. Purple suits all colour eyes, brown too and burgundy looks surprisingly good.

7. If all else fails, reach for the red lipstick. No-one will be looking at your eyes anymore if you go for a lovely bright colour.
