After a brief announcement last week, it’s finally here: the very last Destination Killerbody.
This past Wednesday we had our final training session, and from now on we’ll have to go it alone. With mixed feelings. Our trainer has become a firm part of our lives during the last three months and I’m sad that we won’t be seeing him weekly anymore. Often during our training sessions, we’d stop for an old story, or to talk about current frustrations, problems other than health, chats about drunk evenings or some other random bit of gossip. We will really miss him.
There are positives too. We don’t have to get up at 7am three times a week anymore, and believe me that is a godsend. There are probably readers who are thinking “Jesus, stop whining, I get up at 7am every morning”, but let me put it this way, Jet and I are not that accustomed to it. We also got totally crazy with dragging ‘stuff’ everywhere. First we’d go to training, without showering or anything, then cycle to the office, then at the office (we have a shower) we’d shower, dress and do make-up etc. All this of course meant that we needed to drag a small village of stuff with us each training day, think gym clothes, boxing gloves, work outfits, laptop, maybe a second outfit in case of an evening program, and then to top it off – if you kind of live in two homes like me, something to wear the next day. Enough to make you go totally crazy.
And now, last week in point form:
– On Wednesday we paid special attention to exercises that can be done at home alone. Jet is going to post a weekly set of exercises on the site, so you can follow along.
– It’s Sunday morning and I am writing this article looking out onto open fields of blushing vineyards, Tuscan cypresses and with the sound of uncountable, invisible crickets rubbing their legs together. I’m on vacation, in Tuscany obviously. I’m sitting at a table with the sun on my back and will be here for the coming two weeks. I had plans to bring a skipping rope and mat with me, but forgot. Oops.
I had plans to bring a skipping rope and mat with me, but I forgot. Oops.
– When I’m back in the Netherlands, Jet and I are going to sign up at David Lloyd, that huge gym at the end of the Overtoom road in Amsterdam. They have a swimming pool, saunas, many different classes and it’s close to Amayzine Headquarters so perfect. I’m looking forward to pilates and yoga and I’m totally into swimming. Jet wants to join spinning classes and is going looking for the power training room that Carlos Lens told us about. That’s where it is all supposed to happen. We’ve also decided to take part in a half marathon so we’ll be taking jogs a bit more often too.
– Jet would like to start taking protein powders. We didn’t dare at first, cause there were rumours of getting pimples, but Carlos Lens assured us that this was not true. Any other opinions out there? Please do let us know!
“Three months ago, I had a bum, and now a real BUM.”
– Jet is quite pleased with the results, “totally pleased, never.” Mostly “because three months ago, I had a bum and now a real BUM.”
– I am mildly happy with the results, in the sense that I haven’t seen enough change in my body to walk around carefree in a bikini. What has far surpassed my expectations though, is that I started enjoying sport and have become very aware of what I eat. Not so much white bread anymore, but rather spelt bread and crackers. I replaced yoghurt with soya yoghurt, added lots of fruit, more greens, generally much healthier.
– Another big part of this Destination, was the Innerwave-detox. 17 Days of detoxing of which 7 were juice days, quite an undertaking. But with success, so we’ve planned another course in December. The good news is you can join in! We’re giving away an entire Innerwave-package. Including the powder supplements and all. Check our Facebook page for what to do.
– All in all, it was a crazy adventure. We’re moving forward with courage, and maybe one day we will finally achieve that killer-body.
Goodbye, dear people!
