Everyone suffers from a dip now and then. Especially those unexplainable ones. Sometimes you think ‘a new day’ is the only and best solution but here are some tips to help you get over it sooner:
- Try to clear your head. You don’t always need to dig down to the source of the dip, sometimes you feel bad just because you do. It can be those little things like rushing in the morning or because things don’t seem to work properly. Write or speak them away. “Hello, I’m having a rather horrible day today.” Just that one line can help. Make it tangible. Speak to girlfriends. If you saddle a man with these things, you may end up grumpier because they don’t get it. Sorry men.
- I know, you probably feel like staying indoors on the couch with a big box of chocolates, but don’t do it. Go outside and get some fresh air. You probably have no inclination to go jogging, but believe me if you do, you’ll be able to face the world again. Then you can lie on the couch. With chocolate. It won’t be out of self pity anymore, but because you want to (and it tastes much better after sport).
- Maybe a little too airy-fairy for you, but I know this cool meditation app called HEADSPACE. Get comfy on the couch in a cosy outfit, put your headset on, close your eyes and listen.
- Put cheerful music on. Check out this list and pump up the volume.
- And lastly. Cry. It gives relief.
