-Healthier breakfast-

This is how it works

I’m going to be strict with you now. Especially if you’re the type that forgets to eat breakfast or doesn’t have time. Breakfast is the most important eating moment of the day. No matter how rushed you are, you have to eat breakfast. Your body is an engine and needs fuel, so fill it up in the morning.

Eat while travelling if you have to, but it is far more rewarding to get up 15 minutes earlier and take some time for it.

A few more reasons to convince you:

–      Your concentration levels improve at work if you eat in the morning.

–      You will stay slim. If you skip breakfast in the morning you run the risk of increased hunger during the day, and will probably end up eating too much at one time or snacking continuously.

–       You het grumpy from not eating. No fun for you or anyone else.

You can also pimp your breakfast with supplements. No, I’m not talking about super-foods like linseed, chia seeds, goji berries or hennep, I’m talking about fish oil, magnesium and vitamin B12. These are not replacements for healthy food, but rather a good addition to a healthy lifestyle. If you are planning on buying supplements, please do so at a health store like De Tuinen or a pharmacy.

Take the pills during or after breakfast. Make sure you have eaten first. Here are a few important supplements that should always be in your kitchen cupboard:

 Magnesium

Especially if you do sport. It is essential for muscles and nerves. It prevents muscle cramps. They also help if you can’t sleep very well and aid the relaxation of muscles.

Omega

Fish oil is great for heart and blood vessels. It improves vision and has a positive influence on the brain. All good of course, but perhaps more interesting is that it keeps your weight in balance. It is extremely healthy fat and keeps your sugar levels even (so less snack attacks or sweet cravings and you feel full for longer). Fish oil aids fat burning in the muscles.

Probiotics

Probiotics are healthy bacteria that strengthen your intestinal flora. I also find that it helps against tiredness, which is very often connected with your intestines.

B12

Helps to free the energy from other foods.

Multivitamins

It’s all in the name. One capsule full of vitamins. Especially good for the winter that is on its way as a little extra immune support. Ask your vitamin store or chemist for more information about what you need, because there are so many types.
