THE 4 BEST YOGA-RETREATS
During the last few days I’ve been surfing around on the Internet looking at places to go in January on vacation. Preferably to a sunny place. “Hey Jet, it is supposed to be vacation!” shouted Liesbeth when she saw me looking at one after another yoga- and boxing retreat. I know, I know, but I am the happiest person on earth waking up at 6:30am for a little yoga on Koh Samui. Don’t worry though, one sip from the gin & tonic bucket and I’m the last person to leave the full moon party.
I’m in the mood for a week of stretching and toning, eating healthily, sleeping for hours, massages and saunas. Should I go on or have I already convinced you? These are in my opinion the nicest resorts to visit.
Southern Italy
My favourite site happysoultravel.nl offers the best yoga trips. This one in Southern Italy for example. I wish I could book immediately. You stay in a huge Masseria with around 100 hectares of ground with olive trees and vineyards as your view. The Tommasino family cook a wonderful meal for you everyday. All lovely, light and healthy. In the morning and evening you do yoga and also mediation lessons if you feel like it. You will return home a brand new person.
Zeeland- Domburg
No need to even get on a plane, you can stay close to home. In Domburg. A lovely luxury retreat with a gigantic yoga hall, and enough space inside and out to do sport. You’re on the coast, so totally fabulous. You could stay for up to a week to totally revitalise.
Meals are served up from an Ayurvedic kitchen. Uber, uber healthy and with no meat. You can check out vivonline.nl for further inside details.
Koh Samui
The most beautiful (and most pricey) retreat on Koh Samui. There are even rooms with private swimming pools and gorgeous views over the ocean (very pricey). They have daily different yoga lessons, you can hire a life coach to listen to your woes and they offer detox programmes. You could never leave this place. Well maybe just for a stroll along the beach.
Ibiza
Ibiza is a very happy and healthy place with enough relaxing spots for a bit of yoga. This yoga retreat is run by Marc Michel, who has hectares of ground for growing veggies and fruit. The perfect place to detox. Everything that is served up is dew fresh and biological. No meat of course.
