6 New words
So four times a year the Oxford English Dictionary spices up its collection of words. Words such as Twerking, Selfie, FOMO and Twitterati have already manipulated their way into the official pages of the dignified book and recently they published their newest version including the latest and greatest hipster aphorisms. And as you’ll understand, ‘wine o’clock’ has made its way as the front runner of my favorite sayings.
Hangry
So hungry you get angry. Nothing more to explain here.
Fur baby
A nick name when you refer to someone’s tiny dog or kitten. Or an office piglet for example.
Brain fart
Brain fart is the newest way of saying brain freeze, which others might refer to as a black out.
Awesomesauce
This is an adjective you use when you think something is the coolest thing ever. What an awesomesauce dress for example. Or “this music is so awesomesauce it makes me want to twerk and take selfie’s.”
Snackable
This word probably immediately makes you think about food but au contraire; snackable is anything that has been made to be read or viewed. A snackable video for example.
Wine o’clock
It’s an unofficial rule that there should be a five somewhere in the clock before it’s ‘acceptable’ to uncork a bottle of wine. However when it’s wine o’clock, uncorking the bottle is completely adequate. And it’s always wine o’clock somewhere in the world. Oh, and there is a beer o’clock too, but we’ll skip that one for now.
