Ellemieke’s tip

Our health and fitness editor Jet is hibernating for the entire month of November to cook up a storm. Or in her case, a cookbook. And since she doesn’t want us to go off the deep end when it comes to health, she’s found a couple a cool fit girls to guide us through the month. We’ve currently got former Dutch model and actress Ellemieke Vermolen who will be introducing us to her healthy and happy lifestyle. 

I try to live a healthy lifestyle. I live by the 80/20 rule. That means that 80 percent of the time I eat things that are healthy and the remaining 20 percent is ‘unhealthy.’ Our cheat day is usually on Sunday a.k.a. Sunday Fat-day! We then like to treat ourselves to fries or pizza and in the evening my hubby and I enjoy a nice bottle of red wine and French cheese.

You have to be able to enjoy food. It’s essential, especially for your stress levels. Did you know that stress makes you gain weight?

When you’re stressed out your body releases the cortisol hormone which we often refer to as the stress hormone. This hormone stores your fat; mostly around your waist.

Soooo, my tip for you guys is to enjoy food as much as you can. Enjoy that 20% for the full 100%!
