signs that you need more vitamins
There is an amount of nutrients you should be taking in on a daily basis to keep your energy levels up and to stay fully functional. I could probably bore you and go on about what each of them signify and how many grams you should use, but I’ll spare you those details. What I would like to share is what you should eat when you’re dealing with specific physical issues. A cold sore for example: hunt down some oranges or grapefruit. But I’m sure you already knew that one. So what about when you’re dealing with dry skin? I’ll fill you in on that shortly. You can always opt for a taking a few extra vitamin pills when you’re dealing with a vitamin shortage, but I always favor getting these out of nutriments.
so, dry skin?
Make sure to get some extra vitamin A. Carrots contain a lot of beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A.
Probably didn’t know that did you? I didn’t either.
Same goes for broccoli and watermelon. Additionally, you can find vitamin A in eggs and butter. So, move over PB&J sandwiches and hello butter and eggs!
having congestion problems?
It happens. Everyone experiences this every now and then. Flax seeds are the way to go. Just add a tablespoon to your cottage cheese in the morning. And remember to eat plenty of fibers. It puts everything back in motion down there if you catch my drift. Oatmeal and beans are great options too.
Are you ALWAYS COLD, shivering or even a bit dizzy?
You’re probably lacking iron. You can get this checked out by your doctor through a blood test. Spinach, nuts (preferably unsalted and unroasted) and seeds. But if your deficiency is considerable, then I would advise buying some iron supplements.
is your hair thinning out or are you suffering from a lot of hair loss?
You need more proteins or egg whites. You can find these in meat. Are you not a big meat eater? Then opt for eggs, specifically the egg whites. Vegetables (legumes) or quinoa are great too, they’re filled with egg whites.
in a bit of a slump?
Suffering from a bit of a winter slump? It means your need to up your vitamin D intake. Vitamin D can also be obtained through sunlight, but since the sun tends to hibernate in the winter, fish is a great alternative.
