3 X what to do with fresh mint
What would we do without it? It smells good, it’s fresh, it tastes good, it pimps your meal and you can use it for tea. And that’s not all. I am a fan of mint because there is so much you can do with it. I’m here to tell you what.
Drinks
What did you think about gin-tonic with mint and cucumber? Use Hendrick’s Gin when you do it. I personally think it’s the best gin combined with cucumber. Add a handful of ice and use Fever-Tree gin-tonic. Perfect for every mood. And for the non-alcoholic days use hot water with a slice of an orange, some ginger and some mint.
Hair
Okay, you can’t use the leaves to do this, but mint oil helps avoid greasy hair. Add a couple of drops onto your head and massage it in. You could also mix two liters of water with two drops of mint oil. Pour this into a spray bottle and use it about three times a week. They say it’s a miracle worker.
Skin
You can use mint to make a skin mask. All you need is honey, olive oil and mint. Mix and blend the tree ingredients and massage it onto your face. Let it rest for ten minutes and then take it of with luke warm water. Mint helps your blood circulation and this mask will first of all give you a refreshing feeling, and then a warm one so it’s a great boost for your skin.

Extra tip from Jet
For a little more than two euros you can buy a mint plant at your local grocery store. Keeping it alive is the hard part. Here are a couple of tips that will help:
– Look, if you really want to make a profit out of this, then you take the plant and put it into a new pot with fresh soil. This makes it much easier to take care of. I’m assuming most people just keep it in the pot they bought it in.
– The plant works the best when you keep it somewhere with plenty of sunlight – it’s a must.
– Put the plant and pot into a low little bowl. Add water into it every day (pots always consist of holes at the bottom) so that it can be absorbed by the roots of the plant.
– Always give it luke warm water. Not too cold, not too hot.
– You have to take off the leaves very carefully if you want to use them.
– Shriveled up leaves means it’s probably thirsty. Don’t panic. Just cut the leaves off and give it some extra water, it’ll be back to normal in no time.
