BEAUTY RITUALS YOU DO WHEN YOU’VE JUST STARTED DATING SOMEONE
If you’ve been in a relationship for years or if you’re very single, you’re probably guilty of leaving the house with wet hair, chipped nail polish or half-assed makeup. It’s completely the opposite once you’ve started dating a potential new love interest. The whole beauty ritual takes a hell of a lot longer and here’s why. Probably sounds familiar…
1. The perfect hair-do
He’ll never catch you off guard whilst you leave the house with wet hair or that beachy look you get when you’ve taken a swim in the sea. In the beginning, you’ll spend hours on a perfect blowout and on watching tutorials on how to make a fishtail braid or create a top knot. It has to look like you’ve hardly put any effort into it, of course. But we all know that’s far from the truth.
2. Spraying perfume in places you normally wouldn’t
A nice scent goes a long way. It can portray how you feel, who you are or who you want to be. So it’s pretty important to pay attention to perfume. If you’ve just started dating someone, you’re probably spraying it in places you’ve never sprayed before. After all, you never know what might happen.
3. Shave
This one matters. You want to be all sleek and shiny for when your partner shows up unannounced, so stubble and bush are a no go. Suddenly, a morning shave is now part of your daily routine.
4. Pull a Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty always went to bed with mascara on, just in case she were to be kissed awake. Something you’re doing now too. I bet you go to bed with some mascara on, haven’t wiped off all of your foundation and you’ve put a little lip smacker on in the process as well. Better yet, you’d prefer not taking any of it off at all. Admit it, you sleep with makeup on.
5. Bodycheck
You wake up with the 7-minute workout every morning and you’re smearing products on your entire body in order to keep everything soft and shiny. Body lotions, fixing products and concealers are popping up left and right, even though they’ve been vacationing under a layer of dust before you started dating. You’re probably also (it’s true, we’ve got it from a reliable single-source) shaping your boobies to make them look a little bit bigger.
6. Toenails
Suddenly it’s a priority; maintaining your toenails. You used to have chipped nail polish and you didn’t give them a second look, but now it’s part of your daily routine.
7. Secret spots
This one sounds a lot more exciting than it actually is. Nowadays some of your beauty products have taken up a spot in your bathroom and kitchen cabinets. This way, you can reapply when you’re topping off the glasses of wine or when you’re going for a nervous pee.
