Here at Amayzine we’ve got a huge girl crush on Charlotte. For anyone who doesn’t know her yet (which we’re having a hard time imagining): she runs an extremely successful blog called The Fashion Guitar. She spends her time switching between New York and Toronto and she’s got a closet that most women would kill for. Time to ask her about the guilty pleasures in her life. Let’s go!
Your oddest trait?
“I always find doing the laundry or vacuuming to be very relaxing. There are a couple of chores at home that I hate, but these are two things I really don’t mind doing. Nothing is as great as the smell of a freshly cleaned home and not having sandy feet when I walk around the kitchen (I have two kids and they always bring a lot of junk indoors).”
Who were you a fan of when you were younger?
“I was never a fan of a specific singer or boy band but I was a huge fan of playing hockey when I was younger. During that time I was very into Teun de Nooijer (Dutch hockey player).”
Favorite song to sing along too?
“Sultry singing along to Selena Gomez: ‘Good for you’, but honestly, I usually don’t get much further than a Dutch lullaby for my kids.”
Chore that you always leave until the very last minute?
“Simple things like sending a box filled with clothing to my favorite online reseller (Vestiaire Collective), but unpacking my own suitcase after a trip (I usually don’t get much further than taking out the laundry and the rest of the things I’ll take out once I need them). And bringing things like bra’s back to H&M. I always try them on at home instead of in the store, and when they don’t fit, I make an agreement with myself to bring them back… happens almost NEVER.”
Biggest pet peeve?
“When people work in my kitchen and then don’t clean it afterwards…”
Ever tell a little white lie?
“Of course. I would lie if I say I never had.”
Secret show you’re obsessed with?
“Series addict that I am… Heart of Dixie. And I STILL watch Grey’s Anatomy – I cried when McDreamy died…”
Most expensive bad purchase?
“An entire Vetements outfit, it just looked really weird on me. Returned it right away, it was too expensive to keep…”
Biggest addiction?
“Shoes, bags, popcorn, Mexican food, Netflix, champagne, homemade coffee, cut-off denim, Estée Lauder night repair, my kids and husband, traveling, my blog, Instagram… and the list goes on!”
Word you overuse?
“I don’t really have one, although I do like to use the one my son James has for fun: ‘yup’ (he’s four).”
Guilty pleasure food wise?
“Mexian takeout…”
Biggest superficial turnoff?
“Meeting people in the business that are boring, unkind or just appear to be boring… Such a turnoff!”
Hidden talent?
“Can’t tell you that! Won’t be hidden anymore ;-).”
Embarrassing hobby?
“It’s not really a hobby, but I do have an uncanny tendency to keep my entire house neat and tidy… can be irritating for those around me!”

Wat is je vreemdste eigenschap?
“Ik vind de was doen of stofzuigen heel ontspannend werken. Er zijn een groot aantal huishoudelijke dingen die ik haat, maar deze twee doe ik met liefde. Niks is zo lekker als de geur van frisse was en géén zand onder mijn voeten in de keuken (ik heb twee kleuters en die brengen zoveel troep mee naar binnen).”
Van wie was je vroeger fan?
“Ik ben nooit echt fan van een zanger of boyband geweest, maar ik was een vrij fanatieke hockeyster, en in die tijd vond ik Teun de Nooijer zo leuk!”
Lievelingsmeezinger?
“Lekker een beetje zwoel meezingen met Selena Gomez: ‘Good for you’, maar honestly, ik kom meestal niet verder dan ‘Slaap kindje slaap’.”
Welke klus stel je altijd uit?
“Simpele dingen als een doos met kleding naar mijn favoriete online reseller inpakken en opsturen (Vestiaire Collectief), mijn eigen koffer uitpakken na een trip (meestal kom ik niet verder dan de was eruit halen en vervolgens blijft de rest nog een paar weken staan en haal ik eruit wat ik nodig heb als ik het nodig heb). En dingen als bh’s terugbrengen naar de H&M. Ik pas die nooit in de winkel maar thuis, en als ik het dan niet pas, dan spreek ik netjes met mijzelf af ze even terug te brengen… happens almost NEVER.”
Grootste zinloze irritatie?
“Als mensen in mijn keuken bezig zijn geweest en die vervolgens niet schoon achterlaten…”
Vertel je wel eens een leugentje om bestwil?
“Of course. Ik zou liegen als ik zou zeggen dit nooit te hebben gedaan.”

“Serieverslaafde die ik ben… Heart of Dixie. En ik volg NOG STEEDS Grey’s Anatomy – ik heb gehuild toen McDreamy dood ging… Ja, zo erg is het…”

“Een hele Vetements-look, die stond gewoon zo raar bij mij. Gelijk maar weer retour gedaan, was te duur om te laten liggen…”

“Schoenen, tassen, popcorn, Mexicaans eten, Netflix, champagne, homemade coffee, cut-off denim, Estée Lauder night repair, mijn kinderen en man, reizen, mijn blog, Instagram… ga zo maar door!”
