Beauty
i want what she has
During our trip to Australia and Africa we spent quite the amount of time driving around in cars and when you do so, you turn on some music to avoid the endless hours of silence. And when I say music, I mean we had to turn on a CD because rental cars usually aren’t too high tech and so you can’t plug in your phone. We had exactly one CD and that happened to be Taylor Swift’s. I can’t even remember how many times we had the album on repeat and it officially turned me into one of her biggest fan. Not only due to her songs, but her intriguing looks too.
“She was the ultimate girly-girl which just didn’t mesh well with me.”
Let’s talk about her look, guys, her look is phenomenal. Let’s go back ten years – 2006 -, back then I wasn’t so impressed. She looked like some sort of wannabe pop idol with long blonde hair and bangs. She was like a delicate porcelain doll without and spice, a Barbie like the rest of them. Or, perhaps the best way to describe her, she looked like some girl who just walked out of a fairytale. Not entirely bad, but kinda dull. She was the ultimate girly-girl which just didn’t mesh well with me.
Until she chopped off those locks. Two years back. I remember it very well. My god, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. She got rid of the long hair, played around with a curling iron and worked her bob length chop with bangs. Very sexy, very cool. She had long bid farewell to the ‘wannabe’ label. That bob suddenly got a bit more edge and with a touch of salt spray, Taylor started rocking the beach look. And because she doesn’t shy away from the word change, she’s pulled off quite a few different looks and I followed in her footsteps. Taylor has bangs? I need bangs. Taylor has beach hair? I need beachy hair. Taylor has curls? I need curls. But the point is: she currently has bleached blonde hair. It looks so insanely cool on her, but I’m still doubting what I should do. Is this where our looks part ways? Taylor, give me a call so we can discuss this. That way I’ll know what I’m up for.
