Choosing the right shade of lipstick is hell. It’s so easy to fail and even if you have Prodent white teeth, they can still look yellow when you chose the wrong shade. It’s easy for me to mention all the colors that are currently “hot” in the beauty world, but that doesn’t mean they’re all right for you. But apparently we’ve got our zodiac signs to help us out. I came across this lipstick horoscope on Refinery29 in which The Astro Twins help you find the most suitable products for your lips, according to your horoscope, character and plans for 2016. Sounds exciting, right? Let’s see what’s in store for us.

Aries

Aries have a knack for style, but stay close to fresh and natural color tones. Might be taken a little too literally though, because vegan and organic products seem to be the preference. So, you’ll probably understand why earth tones and dark tones work best in completing the look.

Taurus

A Taurus is one of the classical signs, but with an edge. You are fierce and you can bring your point across quite forcefully sometimes, which brings out your cheeky side. Cheeky colors, which are mostly nude tones, were made for you. A clear, purple color suits you perfectly.

Gemini

You don’t shy away from trying something new and taking a step out of your comfort zone; as long as it has a classical and feminine touch. And a classical tone fits that category, of course. A nice berry purple color for example. It’s classical, but with an edgy twist.

Cancer

You are very feminine and very loyal as well. Sometimes a little too much when it comes to opening up to new or exciting adventures. This is putting it bluntly, if you ask me. Coral colors suit you well. Sounds daring, but with coral you stay close to soft tones as you would normally go for, whilst still keeping up with current trends. Leo

The first thing you would normally opt for is a bright and shiny color. You want to be seen. But maybe a more modest color will work better for you this year. Take Kylie Jenner for instance who’s also a Leo, who’s quite outspoken in her style. She can balance this by going for a bright, but matte lipstick. Definitely something you should try.

Virgo

This will be a year of passion and boldness for you. You’ll take risks. So it’s only fitting that you match your lipstick routine to that too. Think fiery orange or bright red. Because you’re worth it.

Libra

You come across as a dreamer with gentle ways. Like a mermaid floating through the sea. You’re quite scared to get unsettled, so you choose colors that make you feel secure. Nude tones work well on you, but if you add a shimmer to that you’re radiant side will show best. You don’t have to become a wallflower, after all.

Scorpio

It’s all about colorful tones for you this year. They match the vibes which you’re in this year. Stay away from dark tones, because they’ll have somewhat of a heavy effect on your state of mind. It doesn’t have to be all dark and heavy.

Sagittarius

It’s time for some high-end colors, good clarity and a heavy dose of gloss. Invest in a color tone that you can wear all day. It’s your year to be seen, but it doesn’t have to be on any specific occasion. It’s best to choose certainty so you’ll feel confident all day long.

Capricorn

This is an exciting year for you. Sometimes your words can come across pretty harsh (because of tension), so it’s best to go opt for an earthy tone. It balances everything out.

Aquarius

2016 is your year for sexy time. You’re looking for a bit more excitement and mystery in your life which is also applicable to your makeup. It’s okay to use a deep colored lipstick, which brings out that rock ‘n roll vibe.

Pisces

You’re looking for more peace and quiet this year. A bit more balance in life and more me-time. The color that works best would be natural and neutral tones that are very hydrated. You prefer lip balms and nurturing products.
