Fashion Week

THE SHOW THAT’S GOT EVERYONE TALKING

7 things you need to know about Gucci

London Fashion Week is a wrap and the entire fashion frenzy is currently hanging out in Milan (heading that way soon? Check out our favorite restaurants here). Milan Fashion Week doesn’t really kick off until Gucci’s show. Especially when it’s Alessandro Michele running it. Here are the 7 highlights of this years show.

1.
Elisabeth Olsen was the guest of honor. She was seated front row and when she was backstage, she and Herr Alessandro were attached at the hip.

2.
On each seat you would find a picture of a music piece composed by Sylvano Bussotti for pianist David Tudor.

3.
The name of the show was ‘Rhizomatic Scores’, a reference to Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s philosophical theories. That alone is reason enough to love Italians. They make beautiful clothing with philosophical contexts which leave you wanting to buy it. Outside, inside, tradition, cultural heritage. These combined always makes your credit card giddy. See here.

4.
If you like poofy sleeves, then Gucci is where you need to be at. Blouses, jackets, even their knitted pullovers had poofy effects.

5. The key trends from this show were miniature hats with a small vail, glasses with distinct frames in bright colors with a ton of glitter and rings that need to be placed on multiple fingers.

6.
Graffiti artist Trouble Andrew edited bags and certain items of clothing.

7. Alessandro Michele described the show as ‘The Renaissance that just walked into Studio 54.’
