What do you eat and drink
when it’s hot out?
It’s hot as hell out, you’re sweating like a maniac in your car or on your bike, and you’ve switched your blankets for sheets. That’s what I do at least, when it’s hot out. The clothes you’re going to wear is clear, as light and little as possible. But what do you eat on days like these? What is refreshing but not too heavy, because we’re in the mood for light.
Salad with watermelon and feta cheese
Check this out for a previous recipe I have give you. Watermelon consists of a lot of water which is exactly what you’re in the mood for with these temperatures. Serve the salad cold straight out of the fridge.
Make your own ice tea
At our office we drink liters of tea throughout the day because it just so happens to be one of the best thirst quenching drinks out there; but now were in the mood for something chilled and cold. So why not an ice cold tea? Here’s a recipe for you to try out.
Ice cream
Something with blueberries and melons. Give this a look.
Cold soup
Gazpacho for example, or cucumber soup. I once wrote about how easy and fun it is to make cold soups. Recipe included.
Salt
On really really hot days it’s nice to eat something that contains a bit more salt, so give your salt shaker a few extra shakes when you’re making a dressing for your salad. Salt helps you retain your moisture. You sweat a lot when it’s hot out which can make you feel weak and drowsy. A handful of salted nuts is a good idea.
