the checkered pattern is on

They are called Turk bags because they were originally used by Turkish compatriots who transported them filled with goods for the home front on top of minibuses heading to Turkey. Because the straps of the handles run through, even the heaviest groceries or mountains of laundry can fit in. For stylists who drag kilos of clothing and accessories for a photoshoot, it is an ideal bag. Empty, it weighs nothing, it is easy to fold and nice and big. I always stuff a medium-sized one in my suitcase because you never know what you might encounter on the way.

The Turk bag is made of plastic, has a zipper, and is available in various sizes and colors, with the checkered version being by far the most famous.

No one knows exactly who invented the checkered pattern, but the fact is that the pattern is mega popular among leading designers. Not long ago, Louis Vuitton borrowed the pattern for a simple travel suitcase that had to cost €1200.

For this season, it is Céline (wow! Must-have!) that features the Turk bag checkered pattern in various versions as a common thread throughout the collection. Check it out!
