YES TEACHER, NO MASTER
Look, this is what we like. Fontys University of Applied Sciences Journalism Tilburg is joining forces with Grazia and starting a course in fashion journalism. In eight sessions, students will receive theoretical lessons, writing assignments, and they will go on an excursion to Amsterdam Fashion Week. Lectures will be given by names like Hilmar Mulder (editor-in-chief Grazia), Cara Schiffelers (fashion editor Grazia), Rinke Tjepkema (editor-in-chief Vogue) and Karin Kuijpers (editor-in-chief Metro Mode). I can tell you, that seems really quite amazing to do. I always wanted to get into fashion journalism myself, and now that has turned out quite well, but I have never taken such a nice course. No, I was sitting in musty dusty lecture halls listening to lectures about Medieval literature, linguistic issues about disjunctive subjects in the Limburg dialect (seriously) and endless discussions about modernism and postmodernism. I entertained myself just fine because secretly there is a huge nerd in me, but still, lectures from the Hilmars and Cara’s of this world, I would sign up for that. Does this sound good to you too? The course starts on January 9 and will take place in the Sanoma building in Hoofddorp. The cost is €750, and everyone can participate. Everyone, so can I too? May-Britt, are you reading along? Maybe I should just go back to the lecture halls…
