5 must-haves for your home workout
I can totally understand that you'd rather turn over one more time than get on your bike in the icy cold early in the morning to go to the gym. I have here once written a post about how to keep yourself warm without getting too stuffy. If going outside is just too big of a step during these months, then I have some nice fitness gear with which you can easily create a homemade mini-gym. Here they come:
A yoga mat
It's not nice to lie on a hard wooden floor, and I don't find a carpet very pleasant either. Moreover, you will also (hopefully) sweat a bit, so a mat is nice. Also handy if you join a yoga class to take your own stuff with you. I always find that a bit fresher.
Jump rope
Not necessarily very chill for your downstairs neighbors (if you have any), and you also need a good spacious place so you don't knock things over while jumping. I think jumping rope is one of the best workouts that exist. For your whole body and fitness. Try to keep it up for a minute. That's quite difficult.
Weights
They really don't have to be that heavy. With one or two kilos in each hand, you're already well on your way. Below is a video of my friends Kena and Ketrina where you can see different exercises. I swear by training with weights. That gives you a toned body.
Stability ball
This is my big friend. The only thing is that you can't easily hide it; I mean, you can't really stuff it in a drawer or closet. You could also use it as a chair, which is also super good for your abs. With this ball, you can do a ton of fun exercises for your legs, abs, and butt. By the way, this is also nice for your arms. HipNthigh
This is one of Vivian Reijs' favorites. And she should know as a health freak with a killer body. It's a kind of elastic that you attach with a strap around both ankles and then swing your legs apart. Do you understand a bit what I mean? Otherwise, just take a look here. It's a super good workout that really doesn't have to last longer than 15 minutes. You'll get a toned body from it.
