THE MET GALA – THE DIRT

Our dear Liesbeth already gave you the fashion ins and outs yesterday, but what’s equally exciting is the gossip concerning het evening on which everyone who’s respected in fashion, music, and film gathers.

• This resulted in a photo of a (reluctantly) smiling Beyoncé and Rihanna. The internet pretty much exploded when this photo was tweeted because these pop titans never pose with each other. Even though RiRi’s quite close to Jay-Z, rumours have been circulating that she and Bey are everything but friends. All the more impressive are the contrasting black / white creations they’re wearing — Rihanna in Stella McCartney and Beyoncé in Givenchy — like they knew this was going to be the new wallpaper for an entire generation.
• The photo that was missed by many was one with Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian. In theory are the divas closeuly connected. Kanye’s Jay-Z and Bey’s best bud, and the power couples were both present at the fashion event. The gentlemen were photographed together, but the ladies aren’t found together in any shot. We of course don’t want to add heat to the situation, but we think it’s clear that queen Bey hasn’t completely accepted the queen of selfie Kim.
• Ladies that did want to share with the world they’re (again) BFFs were Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. Last year they were reportedly fighting because Taylor disapproved of Selena going back to Justin Bieber for the umpteenth time. Media assumed they’d broken, but they showed their friendship was still blooming by posting a semi romantic clip on Instagram in which they’re strolling through the streets of New York in their couture gowns.
• And then for the British bad girls Lily Allen and Cara Delevingne who were rioting at the fancy event. Lily wanted to take pictures with all her heroes, she even managed to take a selfie with Kanye West who she’s a great fan of. The British singer even named her latest album Sheezus after Kanye’s record Yeezus.
• And who also didn’t escape our notice was Hollywood hunk Bradley Cooper. We say hunk but the actor’s obviously been eating well and because of the beard he’s growing, we might have to look a bit longer before finding the hunk. Let’s hope it’s because of an upcoming film.
• And finally the types that stood out because of their absence. Madonna, who stated that her extremely provocative outfit wasn’t approved by Anna Wintour. And our very own Doutzen Kroes, who passed this year and reclined on her sofa, pregnant and all.
