Morning ritual

“In the morning I wake up next to the nicest man in the Netherlands. My first ritual is running my hand through his curls, a kiss, and a sniff of his lovely sleepy face before I trip to the shower. After brushing my teeth, I wash my face with the Sensitive cleanser from 302 skincare. Then I spray on the Calming Mist from the same brand and then a drop of the Moisturizing Drops. I finish off with the Sun Emulsion from Julisus, with a factor of 30. On the weekends, I leave my skin alone. All of this under the inspiring guidance of Dany Diop, my favorite skin specialist (who is also an epidemiologist, yes yes).‘

“I have had a Benefit tin for years with a kind of body balm that you apply over your body with a soft cushion. It covers dull skin and makes it nice and shiny. Looks great in photos.”

Eyebrows or lashes

“I do little to my eyebrows, although I occasionally pull out a gray hair in disgust or trim a Ruud Lubbers hair short. I coat my eyelashes with mascara. My favorite is Sumptuous by Estee Lauder.”

Unexpected beauty tool

“With a black highlighter pen, you can also draw a nice eyeliner in case of emergency.”

Favorite perfume

“I am quite sensitive to scents. I have about 25 different perfumes, from heavy men's scents to very powdery ones. I love Jo Malone, but also Comme des Garçons and I have many exclusive scents that I prefer to keep for myself. Most of the time I mix them together.”
