MARC JACOBS LOOKS FOR MODELS ON... INSTAGRAM?
You can start your modelling career by sending photos to an agency (like Doutzen did) or participate in a programme (like Kim Feenstra), but it's 2014 and these days everything happens through selfies. So also this. The team behind Marc by Marc Jacobs is looking for a new campaign model and instead of hitting the streets themselves, they're asking aspiring models to post a photo of themselves with the hashtag #CastMeMarc.
I think every girl has once in her life thought about becoming a model. When I was about 12 years the opportunity presented itself for me to be featured on the cover of J/M (a magazine for parents of children between 4 and 16 years old), because my parents knew someone who knew someone who knew someone. Together with my dog Saar so it was such a party to do it, and besides, I even got 100 euros for it. Which seemed at the time like something I wouldn't ever be able to spend. That one photo made me consider registering at Moeder Anne Casting, one of the biggest casting bureaus of the Netherlands. It fell short in the end, thank god, and I developed a fear for cameras quite quickly afterwards so my career as a model would probably have been rather short-lived. Does the opposite appeal to you and you simply can't wait to be featured in a campaign from Marc by Marc Jacobs (which, even to me, sounds like something really really REALLY cool) then you need to post a very favourable photo of yourself on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #CastMeMarc. The Instagram counter's already at 32,925 people so you need to compete with a couple of people, but hey, you're the prettiest of them all anyway. Good luck!
