MARC JACOBS IS LOOKING FOR MODELS VIA… INSTAGRAM?
You can of course start your modeling career by sending photos to an agency (like Doutzen did) or participating in a program (like Kim Feenstra) but it's 2014 and nowadays everything is done through selfies. So yes, this too. The team of Marc by Marc Jacobs is looking for a new campaign model and instead of hitting the streets themselves, they are calling aspiring models to post photos of themselves with the hashtag #CastMeMarc. And to be honest, I think every girl at some point in her life has thought: ‘I want to be a model’. When I was about 12, I could get on the cover of J/M through connections, a magazine for parents of children aged 4 to 16. Together with my little dog Saar, so it was a party and I also got 100 euros for it. Which seemed like an incredible amount of money to me at the time. That one photo also made me consider signing up with Moeder Anne Casting, one of the largest casting agencies in the Netherlands. Fortunately, that didn't go through and since I developed quite a bit of camera anxiety shortly after that my modeling career probably wouldn't have gone very well. If you think very differently about this and are eager to see yourself in a campaign for Marc by Marc Jacobs (which I think would be really, really cool), then it's important to post your best shot on Twitter or Instagram as soon as possible with the hashtag #CastMeMarc. The Instagram counter is already at 32,925 people, so there is some competition, but hey, you are definitely the most beautiful. Good luck!
