Move over Kim and Kanye

HERE ARE GEORGE AND AMAL

Admittedly, he has done extensive, thorough, and eager fieldwork, but George Clooney has now landed a real gem. The Italians, because George with his residence at Lake Como and, uh how do I put this nicely, a rather close relationship with a large part of the Italian population, is largely considered one of them, are completely smitten.

In two days, the holiday season begins here in Italy and not much more is done than walking to the beach with coolers, having lunch, and walking back. And on that beach, people read Chi, or Gente, or Dipiù, or Grazia. One thing is for sure, Amal Alamuddin (I had to get used to the name too) is cover material because George is one of them, Amal is the bomb.

Is there something wrong? Something?

I have that terrible trait that when a woman is intensely beautiful, I look for an area where she scores lower. Just for self-confidence. Ugly voice, thick calves, bad taste. Something like that. I didn't succeed. And I searched, really. Amal is extraterrestrially beautiful, intensely well-dressed and original, extraordinarily smart and well-educated (she studied international law and now works for a prominent firm in London where she assisted Julian Assange in his lawsuit, so not just any job) and has thus also gotten one of the nicest men on earth on his knees.

Don't whine

The Italians especially love that she treats every paparazzo to a generous smile and doesn't hysterically duck behind large sunglasses, hats, and newspapers. She has the catch of the year and knows what comes with it.

Jennifer, Angelina, and Amal

After the Italian holiday month, it's going to happen. There at Lake Como. Amal and George are getting married. I would love to be a fly on the wall, or just one of the guests, that would be nice too. Jennifer Aniston will meet Angelina for the second time in her life (she seems to have been playing role-playing games with her therapist for months), all of George's famous friends will show up in their Sunday best, but I'm especially curious about Amal. What she wears, how her hair is, who does her makeup, everything. I will keep reading those Italian magazines for a while.

Done with Kimye

You know what it is with women like Amal? You just want them to succeed. She's fun, pretty, smart, and did I already mention particularly well-dressed? I'm really looking forward to the wedding. Even if it's just to push Kim and Kanye's showiness into the background for a bit.
