Yesterday I jumped on my scooter to spot terrace birds. A piece of cake, because I believe that all of Amsterdam was sitting on the terrace at that moment with a glass of wine and bitterballen. Episode 2 features Pia Schroyen (23) and Merel Boots (24). They had worked all day at Bar Spek and could now sit on their own terrace.
What are you guys talking about?
Merel: ‘Pia has a gala from her fraternity coming up with a date. We talked about what she is going to wear. And the date of course.’
Pia: ‘I have a very beautiful dark purple dress from Asos. Dark purple, strapless and knee-length.’
What makes this such a nice terrace?
Merel: ‘There is a nice mix of people and there is always sun with lunch.’
Pia: ‘Yes, we work here, so this is of course the best terrace in Amsterdam. The menu is also very extensive with incredibly delicious food.’
What’s in the glass?
Pia: ‘An organic PicPoul. Really a nice terrace wine.’
Merel: ‘Raspberry lemonade from Agroposta with mint, lemon, and ice.’
Who of you drinks the most?
Pia: ‘Phew, I don’t know, Merel do you drink a lot?’
Merel: ‘Pia is in a student association, so she drinks more anyway. But I can keep up quite well.’
What is your favorite terrace gear?
Merel: ‘My sunglasses.’
Pia: ‘I always have lipstick with me.’
Best terrace tip in Amsterdam?
Merel: ‘Du Cap is nice and Café Kostverlorenkade has sun until the bitter end.’
Pia: ‘Edel also has a very chill terrace by the water.’
