She travels all over the world, but is now in Amsterdam for a few weeks. And it's not like she's just on vacation here, but luckily I could still fit her in for TGIF. Noor, tell us, how was your week?
Almost weekend! Have you had a busy week?
“Pretty good! I had a lot of appointments this week because I'm home for a change for more than a few days. We also recently have a new addition to our team that we are training outside of the known “blogger” deadlines. Some less good news came on Wednesday. My Macbook decided to go on strike due to excessive use, so that also caused an increased heart rate.”
When does the weekend officially start for you?
“Hopefully later at 7:00 PM! I'm going to cook with some friends and then probably have a drink in the city, although with this weather it will likely be sitting inside by the fireplace.”
What is your favorite weekend outfit?
“Because I'm often quite “dressed up” for my blog, I prefer to wear jeans and a white t-shirt on the weekend.‘
What do you do on Sunday?
“To be honest, I often work on Sundays, or I come back from a weekend trip. When I'm in Amsterdam, I enjoy walking around the city and seeing it that way.”
What does your ideal Sunday look like? Anything goes!
“I would love to sleep in, eat a lot of macarons for breakfast, drink coffee, then go shopping and end the day in the spa of the Conservatorium hotel. Do I sound spoiled now?”
You travel a lot, so you must live out of a ton of suitcases?
“Yes, I just got home two weeks ago after a period of almost 6 months living out of suitcases. I really love having all my stuff (by that I mean clothes) around me, but secretly I can't wait to travel again.”
And where do you feel most at home?
“Besides Amsterdam, in Los Angeles. I spend most of my time there, about 4 months a year. The weather is always nice, I know a lot of people, and I know my way around. I always find it very tiring when people say that “LA felt like home right away” but actually, that's just how it is for me too.”
Where do you find peace, time, and inspiration?
“At the moment, I find it hard to find time, I try to work ahead more and more but that doesn't always go smoothly. Lately, I've been watching series more often in the evenings (currently New Girl) and I can find some peace in that. I really get inspiration 100% from traveling and all the experiences I gain from it.”
What kind of music do you listen to on the weekend?
“My boyfriend's studio is right next to my office, so I hear music quite regularly during the week (and I say that lightly) so on the weekend it can be a bit quieter. At the moment, Gregory Porter is really a favorite, so I listen to that a lot. I also play piano and guitar myself, so I often do that on the weekend.”
What do you have in your glass with this warm weather?
“Sparkling water or beer. But I didn't say that, right?!”
What time does your alarm clock go off again on Monday?
“7:00 AM! I'm going to attempt number 100,001 on Monday to start exercising.”
