What do you give as a gift for a housewarming
End of August I hosted a dinner to celebrate my new house. I didn't want to wake up the next morning in a dirty stinky house with empty beer bottles everywhere, cigarette butts floating in a glass of wine, and my freshly painted white wooden floor not being white anymore. So I decided to move the party to the garden. Not realizing that by the end of the dinner the neighbors would complain about the noise, it would get a bit chilly, and that we would eventually have to move everything back inside for some more music and thens. Yep, the floor was black and I still occasionally find a cork or a beer cap back. Well, all this aside.

Light
Candles are always good. But be careful, not everyone likes scented candles and colored candles can also be quite tricky. I think these white paper lanterns are always good. And also nice: very affordable.
Good scent
This hand soap from the Skins Cosmetics smells very much like a fancy hotel or restaurant. It's not cheap and I always find it a bit too much to buy for myself. That's why it's lovely to receive. It's a large bottle, so it lasts a long time and you also have hand cream in the same scent.
Storage
Baskets, also something I wouldn't quickly buy for myself. Yes, I often think when I'm at home: ‘Hey, I could use a handy container for this’, but then I stand in the store by the baskets and I don't really know what I would do with it again and I don't want to spend my money on it.
On the couch
Anna + Nina is my favorite store to buy gifts (for myself). They have very nice dishes, posters for the wall, nightwear, candle holders, and these lovely cushions. They come in different colors. I think you can make everyone happy with these.
For in the kitchen
If you give one gift with multiple people, you can buy something big. That makes sense. And since you almost don't belong anymore if you don't drink a green smoothie in the morning, a juicer is a very good gift.
