5 REASONS
to never let go of Dior Sauvage
May-Britt and I have been looking forward to this for weeks, what am I saying; months. We have actually had the chance to sniff the new fragrance before, but now we finally have it in our hands. And really, this new fragrance from Dior we won't let go of anymore. And for five reasons, which I will quickly tell you about and which will make you wiggle in your seat and immediately run to the store to get it for yourself.
All men's fragrances from Dior are beloved and a staple on the vanity. But, after ten years, it was time for something new. François Demachy, perfumer-creator for Dior, let his nose do the work and wanted to give a great classic a new look. Sauvage was born. The name sounds energetic and powerful, exactly what the fragrance stands for. A scent that evokes images of vast plains where the wind blows over. How does that translate? Bergamot combined with the exciting ingredients elemi, Szechuan pepper and pink pepper, vetiver and geranium. It all sounds very intense, but it has an incredibly nice rugged scent, which is also very fresh in the end. Basically, just the scent that every man needs.
The bottle, or actually in luxury terms; the flacon, is all about luxury. Luxury that the fragrance deserves. The shape of the bottle represents the masculinity of the scent and the cap of the bottle is ribbed, black glossy and has the CD signature. And when you drop that cap on the bottle, it makes such a nice clicking sound. And there’s also a little extra hidden in there, which is the bee emblem on the inside of the cap. Dior is good with details and they make that very clear.
I don't think this needs much explanation. Johnny Depp has never before been the face of a fragrance, let alone of another campaign, so for him to connect his name and face to this seems to say enough. Where he always steps into a role, as Pirate or the Scissor-man, he is now just being himself. And that is a breath of fresh air to watch.
With Johnny Depp in the lead role, it can only mean that there is a handsome film connected to it. The film is made by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who has also worked on the amazing clips of David Bowie, Madonna, Vanessa Paradis and Lenny Kravitz. I say; watch it below and every time you smell the fragrance, you dream away to the film and the location.
