5 things you might not want
I don't know if it's because of the ‘k’ in the month, but in October everyone suddenly starts asking for attention for cancer. The month of ovarian cancer, breast cancer and in England, October is the month when people are called to ‘Go Sober in October’. Because yes, too much alcohol also increases the risk of cancer. That might sound nice, but it's far from funny.
Grazia UK asked Matt Kendrick, a fitness instructor and health coach, about what we need to know about alcohol. Fingers out of your ears, blinders off and read. It actually turns out to be not so bad after all.
1.
This is what you may drink
Two to three glasses a day (okay, okay, that's the maximum), but then you must also have two alcohol-free days a week.
2.
These are the effects of two glasses of wine a day
- Weight gain
- Increase in cortisol which makes you more stressed
- Let's call it ‘smooth’ bowel movements
3.
This is the healthiest alcoholic drink
Vodka. It's the easiest for your body to process.
4.
THIS is the best mix
Fruit drinks are often sweetened and not so good for your teeth. If you want to mix something, it's best to use soda water.
5.
This is how you feel after a month sober
Your skin is more even and radiant, your muscles are more flexible and you'll see that you've lost a bit of weight.
Shall we then? October is already almost halfway through...
