6 THINGS THAT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY TODAY
Tuesday. I don't know about you, but for me, Tuesday tastes like a rain-soaked pair of jeans, an unexpected geography test, and that mandatory piano lesson you obviously haven't practiced for.
No matter how old I am or how fun I could potentially make my Tuesday, it remains the dullest day of the week. With the longest traffic jams and the most meetings. And why does it always rain on this day?
That's why here are 6 tips to make you cheerful. Even today.
Draw a smile on the mirror
Usually, the first thing we do when we look in the mirror is zoom in on that pimple, those wrinkles, the bags under our eyes, or the mascara still stuck to our eyelashes (sorry, Joss, but removing our makeup at night is still not our best side) from the night before. If you draw a little smile on the mirror with lipstick, you'll immediately feel happier. That's how it works in your head.
Clamp a pen between your teeth
This sounds very strange, but it has been scientifically tested on psychology students and it works. Take a pen and stick it as far as possible between your teeth, right against the corners of your mouth. If you do this for ten minutes, your brain thinks: ‘Hey, the corners of the mouth are up, she must be happy’ and then your brain adjusts to the position of your mouth. Just try it. If you squeeze the pen between your lips, you'll feel sad because of the downward turned mouth corners.
Make your bed and spray some perfume on it
It seems that you achieve more in a day if you start by making your bed neatly. Then order and structure are kind of engraved in your daily rhythm. My tip is to add something a little decadent like spraying your favorite perfume on your pillow. It's so nice on a Tuesday.
Cancel something
Look at your calendar (which is probably overflowing) and think about what the world wouldn't end if you canceled it. Or see what you can outsource to someone else. Nothing feels better than a little skipping.
Write a card
Because it's sweet and because it gives you such a good feeling. Write a card to someone you love. You'll get a bonus tomorrow if someone sends you a thank-you message.
Pour a glass
Yes, this completely contradicts my drink less article from here, but if you're feeling down on a sad Tuesday, nothing works better than a small bottle of sparkling water. Just buy a mini bottle of Moët, drink a glass, and watch; suddenly it's almost the weekend again.
