6X THE MOST IRRITATING INSTAGRAM PHOTOS

during fashion week

Oooh Fashion Week, the craziest weeks of the year, where everyone who is someone and also everyone who is no one suddenly is everything. You get it. Fashion Week and Instagram go hand in hand and now that is of course super fun because you are always up to date with everything, but the cliché factor also goes sky high. Not that I am guilty of this myself, before we get into that, but still: here are the most irritating Instagram photos that you undoubtedly see at least a thousand times a week.

The blurry catwalk photo

Under the pretense of: “If it’s not on Instagram, it didn’t happen,” the most blurry grainy photos of shadows of models are posted online because hey, you were at the show after all. By now I know that there is another side to this coin. Because yes, okay, those photos don’t do well and you know that, but the PR agency that invited you is very happy with such a photo and to please them, I also dutifully (but not always) take a catwalk photo that I know will get zero likes. But know, there is a reason for it.

Photo of your invite

A photo of a lovely little knee in a nice taxi with a perfectly manicured hand and a trendy arm party holding the invite for the show where the person in question is being driven to. You can prove you’re in with a catwalk photo, but not that you’re invited (sneaking in is a sport many practice), a photo of your invite with your own name on it takes away all that doubt. And here too, a PR agency is very happy with the photo.

Look-at-my-messy-room

The hotel room of Jet and me is a dreadful drama, a sort of crime scene actually. We should actually pose perfectly dressed on the bed and then post something like “so sleepy after a day full of shows #dontmindmymessyroom,” because that’s what everyone does.

Lunch with avocado

How it exactly happened that avocado is the new black – or no, the new gold, I don’t know. But I do know that everyone eats avocados and especially loves to post them on Instagram. I’ve done that too, by the way. I’m not proud of it.

The taxi selfie

Yesss you can really see this flying by left and right. A very well made-up head in the taxi (Kristina Bazan loves this) and then something about being stuck in traffic on the way to this and that show. Or, “fashion week let’s do this!”. Man man man.

The street style photo

Many of the popular bloggers are good friends with the street style photographers and that last group sends the photo they took of the first group to them in no time (a few hours at most) so that the bloggers can post the photo with tag and mention on Instagram. How else do you think they can always find all those photos back?
