A Christmas house without a Christmas tree

HERE'S HOW YOU DO IT

I have a girlfriend who is allergic to anything that has even a little to do with plants or flowers. If she has a Christmas tree in her house, you can bet your bottom dollar that she will celebrate Christmas with a pair of teary red eyes and sneezing enthusiastically at the dinner table. Not very nice. But there are alternatives, you know, without having a single flower or tree in the house and still being able to keep it cozy and atmospheric. Also handy for non-allergic people who don't have space for a tree but still want the coziness of Christmas.

Ceiling decorations

Banners and pom-poms always do well. They bring the coziness but don't take up a lot of space. It's of course nice to keep that in a Christmas atmosphere . Cut paper into shapes of a Christmas tree, fold Christmas angels or make diamond shapes out of paper (just like Zilverblauw has done), then you make your house incredibly festive and atmospheric. It doesn't have to be in a golden color, but can also be in cheerful colors so that you can leave the decorations up longer than just this month.

Wall hangings

Hanging something on the wall takes up no space at all. You can still play around with Christmas balls, angels, and glittering birds, but for an original touch, hang them on a wooden stick or just on a simple hook.

Cloches

Okay, I really love cloches. The big advantage is that you only have to dust the cloche occasionally, but you don't have to clean all the items underneath every day. Look, that's just very handy. And fun, because it makes them seem like even more important little artworks. Put your prettiest peaks in it or your finest Christmas decorations and they get such an important place in the house.

Gifts

If you want to create the Christmas feeling without a Christmas tree, you can of course also think of gifts right away. I actually like that. Wrap gifts in their best form, with amazing labels; you can make it as crazy as you want. And you can place those gifts around the house or gather them in one spot. And also put something nice for yourself in there, because in January it's time to unwrap and after a month you really won't remember what's inside.
