Irritating things couples do on Facebook

High time to show my most sour side again, because I still have a jar of annoyances. This time: couples on Facebook. And especially those very mushy ones, they really get under my skin. And to get ahead of you all: no, I don't think this comes from jealousy, I just find it really, really, very annoying. Here we go.

Liking or commenting on photos from a long time ago

I generally find that quite annoying but even more annoying when person A comments on a vacation photo from three years ago with a heart and the text: in 2 months we can go again sweetheart! #blessed.

Using each other's wall instead of WhatsApp

“Sweetiepie how late are you done tonight?” Why can't these kinds of things just be discussed via WhatsApp? Or if necessary via your Facebook inbox? That's what that thing is for, right? And also love declarations, why does everyone need to know that? “I used to do that, it was cool to show that you had a boyfriend,” says Jet. “No, I wouldn't do that now, I find it quite pretentious.” And I gladly agree with that.

Posting a shitload of ussies

No one changes their relationship status to “in a relationship” anymore, but there is something new in its place: the love ussie. Your first ussie on Facebook is A Thing. Then it's real. Instagram also, but still, Facebook is a bigger Thing. But okay, that one ussie, cool for you, I won't comment on that. But please don't send out lovey-dovey photos every day because yeah, now we get it. Disclaimer: this does not apply to Johannes and Olivia. They can post love ussies to their heart's content.

Tagging each other in every post about love or sex

Recently, a post went viral about why morning sex is good for you. And boom, everyone tags their morning sex partner in it. Hehe, look at us.

Congratulating each other

We can assume you were with your significant other when he or she had a birthday, so is that photo with “happy birthday love of my life!” really necessary now?

Commenting on each other's photo. When you are together.

That one posts a photo from a party where they are together and the other responds with “we had so much fun, right!” Why? But really. Why?!
